Had a long run, from Dobie Gillis, Star Trek, Bonnie & Clyde, Roxanne through his last role in the yet t to be released feature The Next Cassavetes.

However, if you really want to see a movie where his talent was actually put to use, I would suggest Little Fauss and Big Halsey (1970) opposite Robert Redford. A box office dud when released, it was actually a great rendition of a "character study" with Pollard and Redford both delivering outstanding performances.

he was great but didn't realize he was that old. LF & BH was a great one. Only a few starring roles, he was in a lot of stuff over the years. Looks like he had a substance abuse problem 3/4 through his career and never really recovered with the kind of roles he had before that. Also inspired Michael J. Fox to use that middle initial.
