Rest in Peace, Mister Spock.

His passing calls for a national day of mourning.

I already felt old, because a couple of years ago, I was critiquing a young person's written work product and told them to try harder. Also said, "Look, you have to think logically, you know, like a Vulcan"

Complete blank look on the employee's face. Finally she asked, "Mr. Tskware, what's a Vulcan?"

damn, I just had to laugh, I must be a dinosaur.

"We are assembled here today to pay final respects to our honored dead. And yet it should be noted that in the midst of our sorrow, this death takes place in the shadow of new life, the sunrise of a new world; a world that our beloved comrade gave his life to protect and nourish. He did not feel this sacrifice a vain or empty one, and we will not debate his profound wisdom at these proceedings. Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... human."

Most celebrity deaths don't really bother me, but I am a big sci-fi fan and this one is sad news. At least he did get to live long and prosper. He joins Bones and Scotty in the final frontier.

I agree. Mr. Spock was my favorite character. Not just on Star Trek, but for all television and movies. Sad.

Damn, if Spock only had more Facebook likes he would still be alive and looking forward to his 84th. Shame on you America.

RIP- Spock . You were awesome as William Bell in Fringe.

The Spock character was so huge that it became bigger than Nimoy, the
man the played the character. I often wondered how much the character
effected Nimoy. Did LM become Spock at times in his private life or did he simply forget the character once the makeup came off? For StarTrek junkies like me the Spock character was so vivid it's hard for me to believe that he separated himself totally from it.
