Good career, but she rode her daddy's coattails, trying to act like he was still alive so he could sing with her on her big hit.

Good singer, good person and the daughter of a great man. Neither ever complained about the discrimination they both experienced throughout their lives, but always expressed thanks and appreciation for their success. In the fifties Nat was driving through Kentucky with his family when his tire blew out. Some kind person stopped and helped him change the tire. Nat got his license number and sent his appreciations and mentioned him on TV. Just nice people.

Yep, very discriminatory.

Sad end but it amazes me how many people with what seems to be everything turn to drugs. I just cannot comprehend it.

Think drugs runs so rampant because of the pressure these folks are under. They get the fame and fortune but they are always having to outdo themselves to stay relevant. It's a ton of pressure and most cannot handle it.

While I tend to agree, I am under high-pressure every day too, to out-perform what I did yesterday, to keep up with trending technology, to be able to stay relevant to be able to earn a pay-check to eat and for my family to eat. Of course I do not have tons of people on TV looking at me or buying my albums but I am under high-pressured none-the-less. (I haven't over-extended myself to where if I don't I starve the next day but I think it also has a little to do with being affluent and thinking yourself privileged to an extent. jmuo (Not addressing her whole life, please do not take that as the context, I am stating in general terms.)
