Former New England Patriot and Miami Dolphin great Nick Buoniconti passed away today at 78 years old. He was the MLB who anchored the Dolphins' defense during their undefeated season in 1972. he won two SuperBowls with the Dolphins and was an 8-time Pro Bowler. RIP Nick.

Great player on a great team with a great coach....back when NFL football was fun to watch.
He was a frequent face at the Fountainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach for about a week in 1985 when OU played Penn State for the MNC. He was much smaller than I thought possible at his position. Seemed to be a very pleasant man and generous with his time.

Yes, but I think it happened in college - not high school. Nick became an active spokesman for spinal cord research afterwards.
He was a very underrated LB.

What memories.
While stationed at Homestead AFB, I went to Miami Beach Coliseum to watch professional wrestling. A Playboy Bunny made her way passed and I scooted back in my seat and moved slightly side ways to give her room. She lost her footing and set down in my lap and apologized profusely. She made my day.
Sam Steamboat wrestled in the main event.
