One of the guitar greats of the 1960s has died. Steve Cropper was the guitarist for Booker T. & the MGs and also played on countless recordings for other Stax artists. Among his greatest riffs was the intro to Sam and Dave's "Soul Man." A later generation saw him perform with The Blues Brothers.

He was a legend. Co-wrote Sitting on the Dock of a Bay. He was the backbone of Stax, contributing to their biggest hits.
i feel like someone could put this Groove on repeat and play it all day. Duck Dunn on Bass is another legend who passed away in 2012.
