I got to meet Tom at his house back in 2008 through a mutual friend. Miss Dixie and my friend were inside and Tom had yet to be seen. I ran back to the car to get my phone and as I turned the corner, Tom is just staring at me as his huge dog stares as well, pissing what seemed like a fire hose.😂

Yes, this one hurts. He's fishing with Denny in heaven now. Well, UL folks aren't actually allowed in but you get the idea....

Hearing of Kentucky music legends passing is hard. TomT. Was one. Cut my teeth on his music, along with others. Us Kentucky people take pride with our music legends. I wanted to be one formerly, but it never worked out. But I appreciate the ones that did. He will be missed.

I had his Watermelon wine song on before I knew he had passed. Just an unassuming artist. I enjoy talent in many fashions. He was a great talent. Too many real talents are passing away now. I pray the current society will reflect and somehow come to the realization that they can do more....

If they made a Mt. Rushmore of Kentucky country musicians, he would be on it.

Bill Monroe, Loretta Lynn, Tom T. Hall, ???

For the fourth I would go with John Prine, even though he wasn't actually from KY. Ricky Skaggs is definitely worthy of consideration.

There are some up and comers with Sturgill, Stapleton, Chris Knight and Tyler Childers. Outside of Childers, though, none of these guys are that young anymore.

Who else?

My 4th Kentuckian is probably Ricky Skaggs. But Keith Whitley and the Judds are two others to throw in the overall mix.
Yep agree totally along with Dwight Yoakam. I think Whitley would have been number one had he not been taken too soon. Not that they would necessarily be on my list because it isn't my type of music but Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson are probably as big as any artist from KY as well.
