We all know the road in SEC play will be brutal. Protecting home court will be big, but grabbing some games on the road is going decide SECT seeding and go a long way in NCAAT seeding. Here are our road games, in order:

UGA
Miss St
Vandy
Tenn
Ole Miss
Texas
Bama
Oklahoma
Mizzou

Which ones do you think the Cats can come out on top? I think UGA, Texas, and Mizzou could be wins, but very easily could be losses. I wouldn’t be surprised if we pick up one bigger, surprising road win. Wouldn’t surprise me to see a stinker on the road either.

13 of our SEC games are Quad 1, ARK just outside, it's gonna be a tough road for whoever can win the SEC this year. If Pope can fet us in the top 4 and do well in Nashville I'll be thrilled.

I’m gonna guess we go 7-2 at home, and 5-4 on the road

Home: 7-2
Split Auburn/UT
Lose one more game we should win (Bama, A&M, etc)

Road: 5-4
Win: @UGA, @Oklahoma, @Mizzou
Win 1/2 (@Vandy @Texas)
Win 1/3 (@MSU, @Bama, @Ole Miss)
Lose @UT

Of the 8 games today, only Vanderbilt won as the away team as home teams went 7-1. Winning away from home this year is going to be tough.

UGA, vandy, and Mizzou are the 3 I feel most confident about. Miss state, okla, Texas, & ole miss are toss ups, and bama and Tennessee are see what happens but we should be underdogs that game.

I am worried about Georgia myself. This is the sort of game UK has crapped the bed in years past. Win a big game, go on the road to a rowdy environment and play soft.
I think Coach Pope truly understands how to coach one game at a time and the trends from the past will slowly disappear.
We can not take any game on the road or at home as a "w" this year.

Four of our next six are on the road. We could easily lose three of those games.

All road games will be brutal, of course, but except for Tennessee and Alabama, ours looks easier than it could've been.
Having said that, 6-3 would be an incredible record, but may be totally unreasonable, imho.

This is a year when losing on the road is no shame at all and completely understandable. The road thru the SEC is downright brutal.

I think this team CAN win any game. But the SEC road games are going to be so tough this year.

I'm hopeful we can win @georgia this week.
@MSU will be tough, let's say loss
@Vandy probably a win
@ UT a loss
@Ole Miss probably a loss
@Texas close but I think we win
@Bama a loss
@Oklahoma I'm going to say win. They haven't beaten anyone, their ranked wins keep falling out of the top 25
@Mizzou--I'm going to say loss for now after seeing them beat KAnsas

4-5 on the road. Need to take care of business at home.

We have lost our only road game so far so definitely shouldn't overlook UGA. They have beaten everyone's favorite 15 second man and st johns this season.

All things considered, UK's road schedule in this historically loaded SEC could have been a lot worse. Will need to win the games they are supposed to win to protect seeding, for sure.

I wish I could guess correctly, but I really don't have a clue.

But here are my guesses (wins bolded). Yes, I think we win at Bama because they are still live/die by the three much more than we are when we actually play defense. At UT is going to be either a barn burner that we lose, or a blowout that we lose. They are the real deal and right there with Auburn as the top couple of teams in the country (and the SEC). There could also be a "stinker" like you said - something like Mizzou or Vandy in that weird gym.

Hey Freidas, Vandy lookin’ good. Give us a scouting report on your Commodores.

Starts with Coach Byington who was 32-4 last year at JMU. Dude is a legit coach, not sure what his ceiling is but he has a good system.

Personnel wise:

Jason Edwards - 18.3 ppg (pg)
Devin McGlockton - 11.4 ppg 8.4 rpg (f)
AJ Hoggard - 10.5 ppg 4.3 apg (pg)

Those are our best 3 players but we are 9 deep with players that are pretty darned good. Lots of experience on this team, we have 1 freshman, 1 sophomore and everyone else is a junior or senior.

More than anything, we turn people over and don’t turn it over very much. That is probably what we do best in addition to pace.

Tyler Tanner is our only freshman, I’m pretty confident he will have a long NBA career but he’s not counted on too much. Of note, he averages 2.4 steals per game playing about 20 minutes per game and doesn’t have a turnover yet this season. Crazy stat. His assist to turnover ratio has to be historic at this point.

Fun team to watch. Glad we have a program again, it’s been a while.

If you think about it, could be very manageable.

12-6 should get you top-4 finish in the SEC. 13 wins may damn well win the league.

12 SEC wins gets us a 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament probably.

IF (big IF), but IF we can protect homecourt all season and not lose at Rupp, that's 9 wins right there.

So we would only need to steal 3 or 4 on the road.

@ UGA, @Mizzou, and @Vandy seem to be the 3 most likely. @Tex, @Okla, and @ Ole Miss would be the next most likely.

Find a way to win 3 or maybe even 4 of that group, we would be in amazing shape.

But it all starts by protecting home court and securing 9 wins in Rupp.
