Against #15 Indiana.

I don’t think we’ll be ranked, but I’ll take it. A welcome development after the ******** that Fitz gave us this year.

F U Miller Kopp.

Please, not yet. We wither in the spotlight

This team looks stronger than the former teams that have withered. That's a good thing cause the spotlight is looking for them.

Northwestern vs Rutgers Point Spread

Northwestern is favored by 5.5 points versus Rutgers. Northwestern is -114 to cover the spread, while Rutgers is -106.

I live overseas and don't have access to full replay, but noticed in the highlights how we went after the Kopp matchup defensively in the second half. I think the announcers called it 'taking advantage'. Really glad that there are no defensive liabilities in our starting 5. Defense wins games - and it's not an overstatement to call ours elite.

I wonder if it was also an FU call from Collins or maybe one of the captains to go after the traitor.

He thinks he's too good for us. FU Miller!

I agree with the other EC here.

I surf SEC message boards. You will not believe the anger fans of, say. LSU show when a kid leaves.

Eff arguments about blah blah better options blah blah.

They don't care.

And neither should we.

I like the SEC fan attitude. We will love you...we will ADORE you when you wear the purple. Great schollie, great degree, great alumni connections.

Switch teams? Go to hell.

That was a great Road win yesterday Here’s a great stat Miller kopp two games playing NU 8 points combined 0-2 against us, he’s still the same player and has not changed anything since transferring I guess we can say their was not much lost when he left suck it Miller.

Kopp was a perennial disappointment here. We kept being told that this was the year he would break out and show a complete game, yet each year he was the same ol' stand in the corner and wait for the ball guy (who also couldn't guard). Then he had the audacity to leave in the middle of his career for, admittedly, a better basketball program because NU wasn't truly showcasing his talents. So, of course, there is some bitterness among this fan base and a little schadenfreude to see he is the same ol' stand in the corner and wait for the ball guy (who also can't guard).

I don't really have any animosity towards Kopp, but he was basically a non-factor in the game yesterday. He made a 3 pointer and apparently made another shot as well. Five points. Plus he had a costly turnover late in the game, throwing the ball to Chase instead of his own teammate. He's just not that impactful of a player. Move on.

Meanwhile, Jackson-Davis grabbed 24 rebounds, and Hood-Schifano scored 33 points. That kid is impressive. We'll see him in the NBA soon (maybe next season).

My post may sound like i have animosity towards him but I don’t could literally careless about his decision to transfer, just like poking fun at him for being the same player he was with us.

I meant it really as a response to the board overall and not specifically to you. The team has been fine without Kopp. He made what he felt was the best decision for himself, but he probably could have handled it better in terms of his comments on the way out.

Hold on there, I explained myself in another thread. I don’t begrudge a kid for leaving, but if he does it in a ****** *** way throwing his teammates and coach and university under the bus, then F him. Typically no issue with grad transfers or kids who are plain homesick or have to be closer to family. Kids who think they are too good for NU and badmouth us on their way out or afterwards. F them. That goes for kids who don’t transfer but exhibit the same behavior. Including certain Union organizers who should never have played QB for NU in the first place.

Three pointer and two free throws. He’s a good shooter when nobody is guarding him.

I actually think the opposite - Kopp was given a chance by CCC to be an aggressive offensive player who created shots, and he failed. We saw him fail many, many times in this way, in addition to standing around. Transferring (at least to IU) allowed him to be someone on a better team who could just stand around; it’s the only we he can add value.

Yeah, it was the whole how he handle that with the comments like you can have your personal thoughts , not announce them just go out and transfer the classy way, but he didn’t so it made me dislike him as a person.

He was super-aggressive in his final game at NU, like he was trying to prove he could get to the hoop and score at all three levels. He went 4 for 18, including 3 for 12 from inside the arc, and then COVID hit. It would have been comical if it weren’t so sad.

Minor quibble, but that was the season after COVID hit.

He can’t play and he big timed NU by saying he wasn’t used properly. Plenty on this board agreed with him and blamed the staff for not developing him. He has got worse every year and doesn’t bring much to the table.

Fixed your post. We're all about the epicaricacy around here. 😉

I agree. The way it seemed to play out was that CCC told him after his last season at NU that he would be getting a diminished role going forward after it became clear that Kopp was a very one-dimensional shooter, and even his shooting was pretty bad. He left, and to his credit landed a good gig with Indiana. His departure was a bit of a shocker for the fan base, but in retrospect, it was the best thing for both parties.

Even more devastating than an FU call - just a pragmatic choice to go after the soft spot on defense. It's not like we had the kind of lead to forget about scoring and just act on a grudge. They wanted the W too much to get distracted by FU's. He was the easiest mark - which makes the indictment even more brutal, of course.
