Brock started, played 36 of 40 minutes, was 0-4 from 3, 2-7 from inside the arc (2-11, 18% overall shooting), 2-2 FTs for 6 pts, 6 assists, 5 steals and 0 turnovers.

I'm pumped as well!

I'm also curious to see how attendance looks for the opener, keeping in mind that it's a Tuesday night game against RMU. Hoping to see a bump.

For those that didn’t watch Drake last season, here’s my 30 second rundown of what I saw all season and will be curious to see how it translates to Iowa. Take it or leave it.

Defense, hustle, and rebounding were must haves, even with an undersized squad, they were excellent rebounders. Offense was almost always a 3 pointer or layup; McC values efficiency over everything else. Very little wasted movement. Slow pace due to personnel.

Stirtz - makes everything go. Good shooter, great passer

Combs - came on as a defense-first backup PG towards the end of the year

Banks - really good rebounder and really athletic but kind of a tweener and not a great shot. MVC 6th man of the year last year.

Manyawu - another good rebounder and defender but undersized for a 5 and foul prone

Howard - the one I’m most excited to see. Excellent athlete and really came on at the end of the year. Would have been a big school recruit out of HS if he didn’t play 1A ball in Missouri IMO.

Matteoni - RS’d last year

Not looking great. 7 minutes to tip and probably 5,000 maybe 6,000?

Filling up some might get to 9,000???
