A few weights left blank for the new guys. Marsteller and Rogers - for instance. They do show blees at 157 - Garcia at 125. Interesting that collica is listed at 41/49. Also interesting that crutchmer shows at the only 74.

PS - if you didn't already know ... Bean is a cousin of the dixons. Thought it was interesting that he landed here.

That is as big of a roster as I can remember (38). Amazingly, only 3 (Kindig, Ethan Driver, and Quinten Patterson) are seniors and 4 (Dieringer, Marsden, Austin Miller and Michael Martin) are juniors. In comparison to OSU's 3/4/38, Iowa 10/6/42, Ohio St 6/10/41 and Minnesota 5/11/38. Penn St and OU have not updated their rosters but they will be around 11/7/? and 5/9/? respectively.

I went back and looked at past signing classes and Austin Ormsbee is the only recruit of note in the attrition of the upper classes. If the younger wrestlers are retained, the Cowboys should be in the think of it the next four years.

Of the ten true freshman on the roster only three have a weight listed and they are Gary Wayne Harding , Ryan Blees and Jonce Blaylock. The 125 pound weight for Gary Wayne Harding is a surprise but I would think that unless it is a mistake it is his choice to be listed at that weight. I agree it would be a pull for him but he would be a small 133 pounder. He may have the upper body of a 149 pounder (I don't see it myself) but he is short of stature. I am very happy to see Dean Heil listed as a 133 pounder and not 141 where although his record was good he was not overly impressive in his redshirt year.

Maybe you let a freshman just worry about practice and school more than seriously cutting weight? Some kids come in ready for that....maybe Heil didn't. He certainly seems like a happy kid from his Twitter feed.....so, maybe that was the plan all along? For him to essentially wrestle a weight up and not worry about cutting weight?

Just making things up here.....

"Making things up" but also making sense. I think Dean Heil has much upside and he was highly regarded in Highschool. Perhaps I was expecting too much from all the ballyhoo about him. I think he will be very good at 133. I think also that a lot of our athletes are still growing at the ages of 17-18 when they come in the room so it might take a year for them to know and the coaches know where they fit.I was looking up some information on Hestin Lamons from Tahlequah and came across bracket listing in 2009 for the Ted Anderson Tournament held in December 2009. Some interesting entries from five years ago.

They included Kaid Brock entered at 78 pounds and he won his bracket. Other names included Hestin Lamons of Stillwell who took 4th at 86 pounds. Zac Gentzler first at 94 pounds. At 110 pounds Derek White of the Edmond Generals was 2nd at that weight. The same Derekk White recruited for 197 by Nebraska and state champion. In 2009 Austin Shafer took first at 142 pounds, Joel Dixon was 2nd at 152 pounds,Andrew Dixon was first at 165.

If Collica cannot make 141 I would hope he redshirts. If he does that and hits the weights he would be very tough at 149 in 2015-16.

I see that Eddie is not on the roster this year. Hate to see that, but it is understandable. I would imagine he did not enroll at Oklahoma State this semester.

So... Now that we have a roster released it does shed a little more light on a possible early linup.

125 - Could Harding put himself in the mix with Miller and Cline
133 - Good news regarding Heil as he needs to be the guy
141 - Collica needs to hold this weight and can be in stroe for a big season
149 - Kindig obviously
157 - Blees being listed could be a sign he has impressed and could be our guy
165 - Looks like AD will land here which IMO is better for him than 174
174 - Crutchmer appears to be first choice but Chance could easily make a push here
184 - The battle between Rogers and Boyd continues...
197 - Should be improved here with Schafer
285 - Steady improvement from Mardsen could turn into a big year for him

If things fall right and steady and expected improvement is shown OSU should be right in it.

John Smith told me he projects GW Harding at 125# for all 4 years. Needless to say, I looked at him very confused because I just don't see it.

Cowguy you are right, Eddie is enrolled. He might not be on the roster as of now but i have faith that it will all be taken care of by Jan. As for the lineup i still think there will be a few surprises by the start of the season. OSU will have a very good team this year, as for being in the running for a NC, not this year but the following "yes".

Chances is about 3 to 4 inches shorter than Blees but both of them sure bring it on the mat! Looking for great things from both of them if they don't get hurt.

No one really knows right now what the final lineup will be until Dec but I have to say the incoming freshmen class is proving why they we're ranked #2 in the nation and proving it on the mat! Each weight in the room has depth and talent (need another heavy in the room for Austin). Proud2B was right about how young of a team we have. Some exciting wrestling is going to happen this year and I'm happy to say I'll be there.

OSU2082, In the Italian's last three posts he edited them FOUR times. I think the answer to your question about his thoughts on the roster and lineup could be found in what he deleted. He is a very shy and demure personage and apparently can not share his thoughts with the rest of us. Anyone that knows Mike knows he rarely says what is on his mind-NOT.
His lips are primed and they are battling mightily with his mind to proclaim his thoughts. I am laying odds that the lips and in this case his fingers will triumph in the end.

It was more about spelling then thoughts. I'm busting at the seem about this incoming recruiting class, and also about Kyle Crutchmer at 174. If Kyle can wrestle hard for 7 minutes, there is no way he isn't a top 5 AA this year. Explosive is his middle name.

I watched a couple of Hardings matches in Fargo and I thought several wrestlers looked to muscle him and out slick him at 32 and so I think the move to 25 would be best for him if he can do it. I really hope that Jordan Rogers starts performing like we all thought he would coming out of high school.
