Roster Update

I just noticed the roster has been updated at okstate.com, inlcuding photos, weights and a couple of new names. New names are Joe Schumacher (confirming Mike T's info) and Donald Cannon (125 from McAlester).

Marsteller and Blees at 157, C. Rogers and Koo at 165, Weigel at 197 are a few of the interesting listed weights.

VERY interesting to see Martseller listed at 157. I think if he's healthy and good to go, if he wanted to or if John thinks its best for the team, he could start as a true frosh at 157, then Blees could redshirt, and then chance can redshirt the following year and fill in at 165 after Dieringer graduates. If Marsteller does go I will be following his results closely as I think he can do great things.

Marsteller is the kind of recruit you need to put into the lineup right off the bat. Get him involved (157) and focus this year starting with Alex at 165. The following year Alex moves to 174 with Chances going up to 165.

Great to hear on Marstellar making 157. I had heard that was a possibility at nationals this year and glad to see it has worked out. If he can continue to handle the pull he can make some serious noise at that weight.

I agree with Mike t in that from a talent and overall program excitement standpoint you have to wrestle a guy like Chance this year.

Togneto, are you saying, "Chances are" that Marsteller is at 157 this year? We redshirt Blees this year and next year Alex goes to 174, Marsteller to 165 and Blees at 157. Is that your scenario? That sounds like a winner to me.

That sure makes some sense to me. We are going to have a great lineup in 2016/2017!

Good to hear that Marsteller could be in the mix his true freshman year. Sounds like he has recovered from his back injury. After watching him dominate elite level competition over the past 4 years there is no question he is a special talent. Will be interesting to see if he can be a bonus point machine at the D1 level. I wish him well and look forward to following his career.

What about one of blees/marsteller wrestling this year, while the other redshirts. Next year vice versa. Then, after ringer graduates, one stays 57 and the other goes 65?

Cowguy, yes that could happen or Marsteller taking a Olympic RS. It just seems with the people we have at 157-174 that there is going to be some juggling going around.

Is Klimara on the roster? I have not heard his name mentioned. I hope he finishes his career as a cowboy and gets on the podium this year or next.

He is not on the roster or in the room right now but hopefully matters will be taken care of in the next 6 weeks. Then it will be up to the coach and AD to decide. He does have a RS to burn.

the last couple of years have been extremely fun to watch and i dont know how you can look at this roster and not get excited about the next four yrs. i am making plans now for chattanooga and wish the next two months were over cause we have a chance.....only one win away the last 2 yrs and now that taylor and ruth have graduated their 50 plus points every tourney who knows how it will shake out this yr. everyone wants to sleep on the pokes but our lineup looks very competitive at every single weight.
