Assuming Pope tightens the rotation once SEC play hits and has it locked by late January what do you want to see?

Here’s my take:

Starters

Lowe
OO
Williams
MoD
JQ

Players to log significant minutes
JJ
Aberdeen
Moreno

Players to log 5-8 minutes
Chandler
Garrison

Spot minutes as needed
Jelavic
Noah

Jelavic probably has more long term upside than Garrison, but his development’s been slow. I’d love for him to stick around because I think he would be great as a 6th or 7th man next year. That said, right now this needs to be an eight man team, and the minutes should reflect that.

Aberdeens minutes need come down, and Williams and JJ’s go up. Less experimenting, more clarity. Pick the guys, trust them, and let them cook.

I doubt he changes his starting lineup from what it is currently but hope I’m wrong. Need Lowe in the beginning to try to get off to better starts. But I do agree with your starters.

Spot on, imo.

Agree with everything other than the JJ/CC dichotomy. Chandler is in a slump, but he at least has the potential to score on drives and is stronger than JJ. Johnson is much worse than I expected if I’m honest. You nailed the right starting lineup and I think that’s where we are moving.

Chandler just has a much lower ceiling. JJ isn’t far off Chandlers stats in 9 less minutes per game. If JJ can get going his upside is so much higher IMO, Chandler will never be a facilitator and that’s what we need.

Not to mention the defensive upside playing JJ over Chandler will bring. Glad to hear everyone’s opinion.

The only thing I'd change from op is that the Chandler and BG minutes would be dependent on foul trouble or injury or garbage minutes being available. I'm not down on either one but, just being honest, any time either is on the floor instead of MM, JQ, MoD, OO, Lowe, DA, or KW we are not trying to be our best.

I think we should go with MM, JQ, and MoD at the 4/5 spots and KW, OO, and DA at the 2/3 spots and Lowe/JJ at point. I like Aberdeen as a wing; he's just as good as OO there but he's just not a point guard. I agree about JJ; he hasn't been what we need so far but he is the closest on the team to Lowe in being able to get into the paint and finish or making the assist and he could be trouble in the pick and roll with JQ.

Think your first post was perfect with the exception of CC and JJ. I would swap those two.
Your minutes argument makes sense, but I think CC is a much better defender than JJ. If nothing else, just from the simple fact that he is probably 30 lbs heavier and 2 years older.

This is all spot on to me. Love that starting lineup and hope they get by far the majority of the minutes. And love to see more of JJ off the bench to see if he can hit his ceiling by March. We need less minutes from Chandler at this point and don't want to see him keep starting. But, he does still have his own potential and still want him to have a clear role.
