Anyone else a creature of habit? Some things I do.

Clothes laid out for the week by Saturday night.
Lunches planned and packed for the entire week on Sunday.
Same breakfast every weekday.
Same routine of getting up, showered, and dogs taken care of every morning.

If I mess up a routine, I feel 'off' for a little while. I don't use the term OCD because that's an actual disorder. My routines actually keep me less stressed, but if I get off of one, it doesn't ruin my whole day.

I’m very efficient and tend to focus on one thing at a time in order to do it the best, how that looks to others I don’t know. Working with me might be great or a bad experience depending on how someone else approaches things. I’m not impressed be self proclaimed multitaskers who touch nine things up. Wait a minute, oh yeah, I’m a person of pattern.

I have a routine on weekdays.
  • walk the dog every weekday morning before getting ready for work
  • Go to the gym over lunch hour
  • go to gym after work on M & W
Weekends vary, but usually sleep late, watch football, take a nap.

I think routines are comforting. Especially when I'm not very awake in the mornings.

To say I’m a creature of habit and have rigid routines would be an understatement.

Same
Routine
Every
Damn
Day

Every Saturday, I make it a point to snort a few lines of coke off of at least one high-class escort's ***. If possible, I do this either on my private jet or at one my vacation homes. Wouldn't wanna upset the missus or make a bad impression on the kiddos.

I’ve developed a work uniform that wipes out a lot of need for any attire planning.

Spring/Summer: Grey/Navy Polo & Jeans.

Fall Winter: White/Lt. Blue Button Down, Navy Sweater, & Jeans.

I have the same polo: six polos in grey, and six in navy. The button downs are all the same Brooks Brothers shirt in 6 different colors/patterns. The sweaters are all from the same retailer, but in different styles (but all navy).

Outside of the office, I have 6 grey tees, 6 navy tees, and six navy/grey dry-fit type tees.

For socks, I have 3 types: 6 pairs of work boot socks, 6 pairs of brown dress, 6 pairs of navy dress, 12 pairs of white anklets. When one sock gets a hole, I throw out all socks of that type and “reset my supply.” I do the same thing for my 10 identical undershirts.

If I “run out” of polos because my wife didn’t get the laundry done I time (we have clear split of responsibilities on this), I pull out my phone and order two more polos and pay with Apple Pay in about 45 seconds.

You should try it.

Mine is a little more varied, but having a clothing rotation makes life easier. That and the realization that no one really cares what a 40-ish married man looks like or dresses like, provides he is not a slob.

I don't have a set daily routine or dress schedule (More of a grab something clean out of the closet and put it on kind of guy), but I'm definitely a creature of habit.

I eat one of three breakfasts every day, get the same thing every time I go to certain restaurants, check certain websites in a certain order, take my lunch break within the same 10 minute window every day, etc.

This. Multitask all you want, but I am going to do one thing at a time extremely well. It just annoys the crap out of me when people see me deep in work and come in to chat about the weather. I'm barely polite about it.

Why are you so interested in the clothes that other men are wearing?

Because, the funny part is that you’re most likely an actual boring loser in real life and I’m not.

So best case scenario, you post some really terrible clothes and prove it and worst case you flail with memes and prove it as well (but without any clothes for us to make fun of some more.)

Have fun in the mousetrap and TFP here on the Paddock.

I hate routines, they make me feel stuck and trapped and give me anxiety. Outside of a set work schedule my weeks are completely different week to week.

My morning routine. Get out of bed, go to the bathroom, eat breakfast, grab something out of the closet to wear, grab a snack for the morning, fill up my water bottle, go to work. I live less than a mile away from my drive way to my office door so I just come home for lunch.

My only routine is to take a piss when I get up in the morning, and that's only because the main bodily organ that drives my system tells me too. I improvise everything else.

It's a sense of freedom like playing lead guitar in a jam. Always sounds, feels and works out best when it's natural, creative, in the moment, and not pre-planned.

Some of you guys are goddamned impotent, passionless robots. Probably need charts or sheet music to play anything. Hell of a way to "live".
