Did anybody else hear Roy apologize on air today to Pitino? Roy apologized to Pitino during his interview for jumping with joy when the UNC player hit the winning shot. Said Pitino was a HOF coach and that was disrepectful for him to do that..WTF.. is Roy not allowed to show emotions when his team wins a nail biter..No doubt in my mind had the shoe been on the other foot there would have been NO apologies..Never heard of a coach apologizing for being happy his team won...I know it's UNC and Roy Williams but IMO Williams has more respect in his little finger than Pitino has shown in a lifetime..Coach don't EVER apologize for cheering on your own team!

Didn't care about that. The strange part is that he was sitting with the ESPN TV crew immediately following the game. Have you ever seen that before? Usually there are on court interviews, post game responsibilities but not for Roy at home, it's get on TV and pimp yourself. I'd have to see proof before believing he shook Ricks hand.

Yeah and don't EVER run off the court with your stars and leave the reserves to fend for themselves. Yep, a class act until put under pressure. It's easy until the schmidt hits the fan.

Don't forget to sit there and not make any noises like shouting anything condescendingly horrible and vulgar like "Don't miss, Deion !" when the UNC*** player is at the free throw line at the Dean Dome. Just don't say ANYTHING against the home team, because ole' Roy will have you escorted out of the gym!

Then, in the cozy post game interview, don't question good ole' boy Roy or he'll threaten to summarily end the feel good post game presser.

Class act, that Roy is...

Never said Ol Roy is or was a class act..Just saying he does have more than Pitino and thats really not saying much. I just did not understand why he felt the need to aplogize for cheering on his team today.

Face it...the shots at UNC*** are being called by the PR people now. The goal is to make Roy and UNC*** look good. Roy was mostly told by the PR people to do what he did. The guy has the ethics of a degenerate sea turtle.

np, 55. Roy is just one of those coaches that .... well, I just really can't stand. But you're right, he shouldn't have to apologize for cheering his team after such a big basket was just made to basically win the game for them.

I use to respect Roy, but the last few years has shown me is a little, little man that will lie in a second.

I love sea turtles but that expression was one that I heard often from my favorite history prof in college. I don't have much of a chance to use it except in reference to UNC*** and ol Roy.

He'd only have given you a C+ but hey, look on the bright side...You'd have passed any AFAM class going at UnCheat...with an A.

If Rick allowed him to shake his hand. You know how much this guy hates losing so he probably ran like a scalded dog. Both are snakes in the grass and deserve each other. Being on tv right after the game is pretty normal. CBS usually does the player and a coach for their nationally televised games if there is time. Guessing there was no sideline reporter or they has problems with their portable camera so they brought him up to the tv crew.

He's so full of ****!

He's trying to overcompensate for all the skeletons in his closet.

He knows that he'll need support from his peers on his way back down...

there are a lot of things coaches do, including our own (remember selfish mfer on live tv?) that make me cringe a little, but at the same time consider no big deal.

This, though - that was pure selfishness. What little respect I had left for the man was gone after that instance. I could have felt a little sorry for Roy over this AFAM thing (ok, not really.......nm)

Anyway - that is why I want that man to lose every single game. He doesn't give a bloody damn about ALL of his players, only the ones who make him look good.

Googled: Degenerate sea turtle ethics (FWIW)

Sea turtles are revered in many cultures. Around the world there are
numerous indigenous tales and legends that depict turtles as guardians
or creators of life on Earth. In Hawaii, the turtle is a symbol of good
luck and a Hindu symbol depicts the world as resting on the back of a
turtle.

Maybe their PR people are smarter than we think?..
