UK holds steady at #7. Clemson is right behind us and they are on a horrific losing streak. LSU is on a roll and is at #9. Southern Miss, Wake, Virginia, and Stanford are on our heels, so those are teams to watch.

Interestingly enough, UL dropped three spots to #6 after their 3-game losing streak. If they go 0-4 this week, it's conceivable that UK passes them and their national seed may be in danger. If so, you'll see UK and UL in a potential super in Lexington.

Winner of #2 LSU & #3 KY in SEC tourney likely gets the top 8 national seed. If only one gets there, they likely get it.

Evidently we're battling Southern Miss and Stanford for the final national seed.

LSU and UF seem to be locked in

Southern Miss has won a whole lot of games, but their SOS is not even in the top 50 and they haven't played a single game against a team in the top 25 in RPI. If we lose a national seed to them it would be straight blasphemy. Stanford also has a weaker resume compared to UK. Stanford's SOS is 36th in the nation while UK is at 7th.

I could see them wanting another out west team, so I could understand it possibly being Stanford, but I wouldn't agree with it.

I think Florida locked in this weekend. LSU is on the cusp with us, their RPI is currently 8th.

The teams locked in, IMO, are: Oregon State, UNC, Texas Tech, and Florida. TCU is somehow stuck at number 6 in the RPI and the fact that UK never has passed them after the UGA series makes me concerned. Louisville has dropped several spots after going on last week's skid. I think they are in the top 8 and would likely need to lose 2 games in the ACC tournament to fall out. So, it seems to me the top 6 are locked in. The 7/8, IMO, goes to the winner of UK/LSU in regards to who goes further in the SEC tournament. I think the last spot is a tossup between the UK/LSU loser, Southern Miss, Stanford, and Clemson. Stanford doesn't have much of a way to improve their resume. They play a three game set against a crap team. Southern Miss should win Conf. USA, but in doing so won't play a single top 25 RPI team.

Some College Baseball analyst on Twitter had LSU as a lock because of them winning the West.

Southern Miss is in the conversation if they win their conference.

Stanford is hot at the right time.

Could be. I think Southern Miss has a crap resume. They should only host. No wins over the RPI top 25 is not top 8 worthy. Stanford is pretty hot, but they are also playing nobody. The have not played a single team with an RPI in the top 50 since playing top 15 Arizona about a month ago, but they did sweep Zona.

I don't disagree with you. It's crazy how you get rewarded for play nothing but punished for getting beat by a sure fire national seed.

If UK can get a national seed i like our chances- I do think we have a top 8 team this year.

Did Stanford not play Oregon state (#1 RPI team)?
