I posted the BaschAMania you referenced earlier today in the Social Media thread.
The rule changes that were discussed were related to recruiting. Specifically, a change in when a prospect can be contacted, when they can take official visits, etc.
It was a legislative item for the D1 wrestling committee in March:
Men’s Wrestling – First Opportunity for Recruiting Activities.
(1) Recommendation. The NCAA Division I Men’s Wrestling Oversight Committee introduced legislation to establish the starting date for recruiting activities for high school prospective student-athletes as follows:
§ April 1 of prospective student-athlete’s junior year of high school: Correspondence and telephone calls, § June 15 after prospective student-athlete’s junior year of high school: Evaluations and contacts.
§ Aug. 15 of prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school: Official and unofficial visits.
The oversight committee requests the Division I Cabinet adopt the proposed changes as expedited legislation at its April 2026 meeting.
(2) Effective Date. Immediate; applicable for student-athletes initially enrolling full time in a collegiate institution on or after Aug. 1, 2028.
(3) Rationale. By establishing a later recruiting start date, the proposal addresses a prospective student-athlete’s continued physical growth and development, which allows prospective student-athletes and coaches to make better-informed decisions about collegiate attendance. Additionally, the tiered approach to permissible recruiting activities allows coaches and prospective student-athletes to establish a relationship and mutual interest via communication prior to in-person meetings.
(4) Estimated budget impact. Varies by institution based on recruiting practices.
(5) Student-athlete impact. The proposal promotes student-athlete well-being by accounting for a prospective student-athlete’s continued development, which encourages better-informed decisions about collegiate attendance.
I can't find anywhere that it passed. But, I have no reason to think it didn't (or won't eventually) and will keep looking.
