The rule changes will do nothing to improve the game. They should reduce timeouts and allow a timeout only when the ball is dead. No more getting trapped and calling timeout. That's one of the stupidest things in sports, being able to call timeout in the middle of a play. International rules only allow timeouts when the ball is dead, and so should the NCAA.
Allowing six fouls also would be worth considering. Just look at Iowa's national title game to see why. And there are many other examples.
And how about this: enforce the rule that says you must keep your hand ON TOP of the ball when dribbling--not on the side, not UNDER the damn ball. We call that game rugby. Enforcing traveling would be nice, not to mention three seconds in the lane. Either enforce the rules that have always defined basketball, or erase them from the books and continue the trend of letting players do whatever the hell they want with the ball. That would be my humble suggestion.
