Insiders think he’s actually being paid $100MM/yr at Spotify. The only “leak” of the Spotify deal is that it is worth “more than $100MM.” Speculation is Rogan is happy to leave it at that and not bring more criticism for actually being paid $100MM/yr.

This deal would pay him less than Pat McAfee is getting from FanDuel (120/4) and is just a publicity stunt.

It’s a business move. Gives Rogan leverage. Puts pressure on Spotify. If Spotify dumps Rogan, it gives Rumble a market share that might changed its platform.

No way he makes a 100 million a year. Is that what you are saying?

Yes.

For reference, Pat Macafee has 320,000 listeners per episode and makes $40MM/yr.

Alex Cooper (“Call Her Daddy” podcast) signed with Spotify for $20MM/yr when she was getting 2,000,000 listeners per episode.

Joe Rogan has 11,000,000 listeners per episode. His audience is 34 times larger than Macafee’s and 5.5x as large as Cooper’s. Rogan should make at least 2.5x ($100MM/yr) as much as someone with 3% of his audience and 5x as much as some with 18% of his audience (Cooper).

Spotify made $9.7B last year and their podcast ad revenue is up 75% from the last year. They are the no. 1 podcast player in the US now.

They need to get users to get used to listening to podcasts instead of music as a habit. This model reduces royalty costs to musicians and allows them space to generate ad revenue.

To do that, they need a few premiere podcasts and they paid to keep listeners from listening to music as much.

The Cancel Culture is taking Spotify down. It wants your support or, in the least, your apathy, so it can achieve its censorship. Who needs a fascist government when you have a fascist culture? Look away at your own peril. Look away and help.

Please ask Siri (or whatever “lady in a tube” you use) to set a reminder for a year from now to check if Spotify has been “taken down” yet and report back to this thread.

Nvm, f Joe Rogan! Had no idea he was making that per year. Had no idea talk e-radio was worth that much. His show sucks now anyway.

Fabulous idea. But, if we just keep this thread on the first page, I won’t have to purchase or bother a lady in a tube. 👍

Shocker you support him
And, why would you not support Joe? I am not asking if you find him entertaining, just why you would not support his uncensored speech.

Is it that he must align perfectly with your political script to earn your support? I just want to see how immature you are with your politics. And, try to answer, if you dare, without mentioning the dreaded orange fool. Not everything is about that guy.

Sorry to ask you to actually give substance to your hit and run.

I'm shocked at how much he makes. I knew he had a large listening audience, just never knew how large. I don't listen to his show...what's the format or general topics of discussion?

During the beginning of the pandemic, I would listen while grilling. It is a long format talk show where Joe interviews people he finds interesting. Lots of talk about MMA, “nutrition,” hunting, military crap, endurance feats, and some politics. In segments, it was entertaining, but hard to take in the whole show. It just often dragged on and on. His interview of Kanye West was a wild trip into mental illness.

When he went to Spotify, I did not follow, because I did not find it that interesting, overall. But, when 11 million people are listening, the market says it’s worth money. The closest to him is Tucker Carlson at just over 3 million viewers. So, Joe is doing something significant in the marketplace, even if we don’t appreciate it.

I only listen to Joe Rogan when he has interesting guests: celebs, writers, scientists, controversial figures, etc. He's had astronomer Neil deGrasse Tyson on about 5 times, physicist Brian Greene (String Theory), Elon Musk for a 3.5 hour interview. Dissidents that the MSM won't touch: e.g. Eric Snowden and Julian Assange. Politically, Rogan is a left-leaning libertarian and Bernie Sanders supporter. He had a long interview with Bernie back in the 2020 primary season.

All the interviews are in-depth and unedited. You get everything, mistakes and all. He's no Larry King but can ask decent everyman-type questions.

I think it's idiotic for one entertainer to try and censor another entertainer. Not nice Neil. Just don't listen. Rogan has over 1700 hours of content on Spotify, and it would be a shame if it all got cancelled just because of a few minutes of unbalanced misinformation.

Lol.

you are the prime example of what I’m talking about. Your crazy Alt right wing lunatic crap you’ve peddled here for years is your opinion. A ******, horrible opinion. But you can say it. I’m not going to stop you.

But when people call your *** crazy for believing in such nonsense you get butthurt and scream about “free speech!” And when a private corporation that you agreed to terms of service with to use their platform denies you the ability to say stupid, bat **** crazy stuff because they don’t want that kind of **** on their platform…”MUY Freedom!”

You are a prime example of my point. Anything you don't like is automatically "Alt Right". The left has shifted so far to the extreme that any rational voices in the middle are "Alt Right"!

Your private corporations which run nearly all of social media conveniently adhere to your chosen ideology and work to censor anything that doesn't support it, claiming "hate speech", Nazis, and other derogatory labels and lies to demonize. Meanwhile they allow post modern ideologues and terrorists to spew their filth at will.

This lopsided system sits well in your little brainwashed mind because it suits your radical worldview. Well, we've seen the fruits of your worldview in action and it is disgusting.
