It's clear to me the only time Tommy should be under center is on a qb sneak. Besides that giving Newby the time to pick his hole and cut is best. It's a downhill running game when Tommy is in shotgun with Newby or zig next to him

But Indiana was running run-blitzes all game and sometimes there is no time to pick a hole. It was a perfect storm of having key playmakers out, an off day for Tommy and going against a D designed to stop the run.

Whew!
