He's good enough to play here, sure. We just don't appreciate how he's treated UK, his Dad's alma mater. If he wants in, great, but until that day comes, he's going to get dissed on the spurned team's message boards. It's just the way it is.

I'm not talking about those people. It is what it is with that. I don't think he did anything wrong but,

There were people, if I am remembering correctly said that "other recruits are better than" Russ.

Obviously anybody who's good enough to play at Bama is good enough to play at UK. However, IIRC Yeast has already cut UK from his list of schools. It's a shame that it went down the way it did but that ship has sailed and it ain't coming back.

Not disbelieving the OP, but August 1 is when written offers go out; let's see if he gets one from Bama.

Why would they offer him now if they're not going to offer him in 8 days? Lol :flush:

Because kids get offers to camp and try to earn an offer then tweet out they got an offer to X school. You see 200 kids say they got Bama offers but Bama doesn't recruit like we do. We cast a wide net and they use a cane pole.

I would believe that if it was a month or 2 out but if you offer a kid now and don't offer him on Aug 1st.

That's a d*** move.

Good question, maybe just to make UK look bad? Didn't someone on here say that Michigan had 300 offers out, just not that many commitable ones.

Yeast is not that good. I don't believe for a second Bama' offered. He's good enough for UK no doubt, but he's not good enough for Bama'. He's a middle of the pack WR at UK.

I'd wager my left one that's not a committable offer.

Ain't saying, just saying.... and, I have a hand over my left one just in case.

Keep in mind that Darryl Collins had a commitable offer from Alabama as well. Even Alabama offers some mediocre recruits from time to time. They get a lot of 5 star level recruits but like Cal does in basketball they also offer some guys that by design were meant to be role players. I seriously doubt Yeast was a top prospect as a WR for them.

Also I'm not sure where anyone implied that Yeast was terrible and couldn't play here. The bulk of the conversation is that he has a rather average skill set which I believe is true. You can find 3 star receivers that are 5'9" just about anywhere. Losing Hudson or Jones was far more difficult. Had we kept him as a commit he would have clearly played and probably played well here. I peg him as a Ryan Timmons type of recruit. Timmons is a good player and Yeast would have probably filled his role. Still that's not a make or break level player.

Bama needs quality scout team players to improve the 2 deep guys. Surely knows he'd never see the field unless special teams. Not big enough or fast enough to brake the rotation on either side of the ball at bama.

Why do you think any kid that could have gone to UK would only be a bench warmer at Alabama? Most coaches don't offer scholarships to players they don't see as being able to help them somewhere down the line.

It's not committable. UK and your home school ul put out mon-committable offers too.

UK does not recruit over 4 and 5 * players like Bama.

You may now go back to the ul board. .

Once you get in school star ratings don't matter. Saban must see something in this kid he likes. Either you have an offer or you don't. If it's non-commitable then you don't.

Like I said earlier in the thread, the truth will come out soon enough when schools send out their written offers that bind them to the recruit. Yeast is a nice prospect, but there's nothing about him that screams elite prospect that Bama would typically go after.

This kid has serious self-confidence issues. First, the need to be stroked and fawned over after he verbaled to UK, and threw himself a hissy-fit when he didn't get his way. Then he opens his recruitment and, shockingly (at least to him), no one is falling over themselves to tell him how awesome he is. Now, he's posting a conditional offer from 'Bama as a legit offer so people will notice him. "Look at me! I'm good, right? I'm great at football, like my dad, right?"

People who need other people to pay attention to them that much usually have real self-worth issues. I almost feel bad for the kid.

It's okay because Alabama is so deep, they actually don't put any players on the field. If you go back and look at the tape, Alabama actually hasn't put a player on the field since 2011. Fact.

and coaches likeGeorgia Tech’s Paul Johnson and Alabama’s Nick Saban have gone on record admitting that not all offers they extend are necessarily valid. And it makes a little bit of sense to categorize scholarship offers a little differently. After all, have you ever noticed how many offers college football programs extend each year?

Alabama has 263 "offers" out for this year.

Great article explaining it in detail. Yeast is a guy that if they need a WR and miss all their other prospects on signing day will be signed to fill out the scout team. In no way does Saban see him as even a role player at Bama'. He's a space filler. He's good enough to play at UK but he'd be a 2 deep WR here after he develops. That doesnt= true player for Bama. As I've said many times even when he committed in the first place, don't hold him to his fathers ability because it's not fair. He's a solid college player with development. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yeast does not want to play for UK. Might as well list all of Bama's commitments and declare "huge loss!"

Yeast is an above average player but that's about it. He would be a better DB than he would be a receiver. I like Thomas and Ali more and Bama could easily do better
