If we really think we just want to dump the ball in on every possession to Ryan, whose offensive arsenal is limited to a short hook and different layups, I think we become way too one-dimensional and the team suffers. Let the plays/players move and get everyone involved. I agree he should play more minutes, but I still think he’s a better option for scoring from the second unit.

Again, I did not watch today's game, but my sense is that Ryan Young deserves more minutes than he's currently getting, particularly in lineups that feature at least a few starters.

I can understand why Collins thought that a "second team" of Greer-Roper-Simmons-Williams-Young might have worked for a few minutes each half -- Greer keeps everyone steady, offense runs through Young and Williams in the paint, Roper and Simmons are athletic enough to hang on defense -- but to me it seems Young isn't as effective when he doesn't have legit weapons around him.

Not having Nance or Williams forced the issue, but I hope that this will get CCC to do something about his rotations that's more effective going forward.

Young played really well, but let's not pretend he does that all the time. He had a favorable match-up against Hauser and he took advantage of it. Izzo got smart finally and subbed in Marble who did a much better job slowing Young down. Not sure why Bingham wasn't guarding him, but maybe Izzo was worried Bingham would foul too much?

For what it's worth, his RF year was worth its weight in gold - learning from and under Pardon was the best thing that could have happened to his game. His moves in the post, so reminiscent of DP, are often a thing of beauty.

Ryan Young has two last names, which means that people will always underestimate his talents and overrate his cooking, like Wolfgang Puck.

Young replaces Nance at the 5 and Nance replaces Beran at the 4? Beran subs for Nance. Nicholson subs for Young.? Gives us more of a physical presence? run high and low with Young and Nance

Makes sense. Pete like to face the basket. He’s probably one of our best outside shooters. Young likes posting up and working it in.
