Way to be a gracious loser and leader of your program by spewing cringing remarks after the game. Had nothing against Wiscy going into the game but this is making it sweeter.

Seems Ryan was preparing his post game comments/excuses down the stretch instead of making adjustments. Enjoy the flight home with runner-up trophy.

Now you see why I included Wisconsin in my list of programs I can't stand a few months back. Bo Ryan is the definition of a sore loser. He's bitter about the "rent-a-player" because he can't land 'em. Missed out on Stone and Ellenson in this class. Do better, Bo.

He did pretty well, almost beat you and everyone else and nobody fair could argue the officiating helped Wisconsin.

FWIW, that is pretty uncharacteristic of coach Ryan. He's a good coach who usually has a better filter. I think the magnitude of the stage and his disappointment over not getting it done with this class may have clogged his filter.

How about in the UK game? And the B1G Championship game? The officiating kept our best player on the bench for most of the game, and Bo still couldn't figure out how to get it done.

Excuse me? What does that mean? Were they wrongfully accused of committing a crime? Get the hell out of here with that.

I don't know much about Coach Ryan and how he normally handles disappointment, but there is no question he pretty much made an *** out of himself on national TV. No one likes a sore loser.

I love the refs conspiracy route, such an easy excuse. Did Duke make the calls? No, so put that excuse to bed.

Not tryingn to be an apologist here, but...

Hard to know exactly what he meant, but I think he was actually referring to the graduate transfer rule, where if you graduate early and have a year of eligibility left you can go to another school and play immediately. Thus it's a certainty that you only get the player for 1 year solely to play ball. This is apparently a more polarizing issue among coaches, than the OAD rule - which is really just imposed on college due to the NBA's draft eligibility rules.

Perhaps he should consider doing a little renting. Maybe Bo should meander down to his local bowling alley and after he rents his shoes, ask the manager if he can do the same with a couple of balls. They would come in handy in the future.

So what would happen is Jahlil, Tyus, and Justice had shown interest in playing for Bo? Anybody truly think his response would be "no you will have to go elsewhere....I don't rent players"? Haha yeah right!

Bo's sooooooo salty. He is being a sore loser but i will not condemn him too much. He just lost an emotional, hard fought national title game and was bitter. Most of us would have thought/said similar things if we were in the same situation

jibip ... also heard a radio talk shop ... one guy was saying what you are ... that bo was complaining about the graduate transfer ... he may have been, but i don't recall a team with the grad transfer that gave him and wisc trouble ...

don't think duke has a player in this category ... don't think kentucy has one ...

could be bo is similar to harrison's apology - that he did not mean to offend anyone ???

if bo is taking shots at freshman being one and done ... he should have started with kentucky years ago -

like so many have said - this is not the player or the coach's problem ... they don't make and enforce these rules ... simple solution - change the rules

It's really sour grapes. Has to be hard on a coach who's up nine points wit two of the opposing teams stars on the bench and he can't coach them to a win. He just didn't have it. Big choke. OFC

Maybe he should've been more concerned with his team closing out 2-9 from the floor rather than "rent-a-players" or "physicality".

K loses embarrassingly and unexpectedly to Mercer and goes to their locker room and congratulations the team that beat him. Ryan makes a jab about one and done players and cries about calls not once, but twice, to the media.

Bo probably should give Coach K a call to apologize, but, IMO, it's not that big of a deal. Bo Ryan's a 68-year old coach who, after 40+ years of scratching and clawing to get from DIII to where he is now, had a team at the door step at a national title after pulling off one of the most impressive wins in Final Four history. Realistically, with Bo Ryan's age and level of recruiting, realistically he probably knows this was a once in a lifetime opportunity -- and losing that one opportunity is surely crushing. Obviously he was in the wrong, but I'm not going to kill him over it.

Bo is renting players much cheaper than Duke, Kentucky...... He keeps them for 3-5 years and has a 0% grad rate for AA players and the lowest grad rate of all sweet 16 schools. That sounds a lot more like stealing than renting to me.

If Okafor wanted to go to UW, Ryan would take him in 1 second. He also aggressively recruited Stone, likely one & done. Duke recruits the best players, the best programs should

Didn't UW football rent a player in Russell Wilson?
