Talk about a unexpected blow to a program. Hopefully just rumors fling with NSD coming up. People putting words to maybe slow some momentum with guys Gran is after.

It is good to hear the Gran is, or may not be in the running for a head coaching job. However, this does not bode well for us over the next couple of years; and we need him more than one year!! Go Cats!!

You can bet that this will be a constant theme IF Gran has success, it's the nature of the game.

Always an issue with good coordinators but in this case, aside from the terrible timing if this would have been a real possibility, I would not have been panicked as I see Gran and Hinshaw as a Batman and Robin tandem. Sure don't want to lose Gran early but if it were to happen I think he has pretty much groomed Hinshaw to take his place anytime and Hinshaw looks to have big things ahead of him too. Of course the disaster would be if Gran left and took Hinshaw with him . . . which now that I think of it would be very likely so nevermind, holy crap we just dogged a bullet!!!!

Thank you. And if Gran gets a better opportunity, I hope that he has been here long enough to give our offense some identity and success; and I hope we have some continuity plans for our coaching. Go Cats!!

Maybe Gran thinks he can wind up HC at UK if things work out.[winking]

Maybe, though I'm still not someone who takes it as a given that CMS is headed for "greener pastures" at his first opportunity. If Coach gets it done at UK (builds a divisional contender) then so long as he is paid reasonably well (relative to other P5 programs) I am not so sure he leaves for some pressure cooker, which is probably the only way he lands significantly more $$$. If Gran leaves in 3 years because we are rolling, I will wish him well. Right now, I think all of this just started as rumor serving the ends of folks stirring the pot the week before NSD. Is someone actually saying HE placed his name under consideration? Did his agent do so without asking him? Does anyone really know? Seems hard to believe he went out and campaigned for consideration at this juncture.

I would hope that Gran would say, NO. It would be a setback for our team to lose him this close to signing day.

Gran turned down Stoops the last two years to be loyal to Tubberville. He will give Stoops 3 years. With the talent Gran has Conrad Boom Baker Juice he could put up 450 ypg the next 3 years and get a p5 job

Imagine the disaster it would've been had we lost Gran and then faced him in our first game. Cripes.

Good heavens, why would anyone think Eddie Gran leaves for a HC position. Surely our fan base is a bit more sophisticated than panic over a non issue. Mr. Gran and Mr. Hinshaw are with UK for the long haul. Calm down and enjoy what these two professionals bring to a high powered offense and a winning culture.
