No idea who the prime candidate will be , but rest assured Gamecock fans, you can sleep well tonight.
I think he’s a logical choice. They won’t be terrible under him. He went to Vanderbilt and he’s done well at Penn State. But whoever follow Sabin is not going to succeed in the way that fans want him to so he’s almost certain to get canned. I think Franklin fits the bill.
obviously, kiffin is going to come up as well and Kirby. I think it would be hard to pull Kirby away from his alma mater. Kiffin will go wherever.
I’m sure that was a factor. He would never come out and say anything negative about it because then that hits recruiting, but he commented several times in recent months on the ways the game is changing.
I can’t stand kiffin, but it would actually be downright hilarious if, after nabbing all those guys from the portal, he peaced out for a better job.

Dabo and Norvell will be racing to Bama. If you think about it, their futures are tied to lawyers and judges with the GOR. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Might be their only lifeline out. I bet you see Norvell’s name pop up.

Dabo’s doesn’t make any sense to me. He’s getting paid comparably where he is. At Alabama the expectation is contend for a title every single year.
I would think that Lane Kiffin would be one at the top of the list of potential replacements.

Someone who has done a pretty good job, paid comparable, revered by his fan base, revered by the majority of the media, and doesn’t have to complete day in and day out in the ACC, can recruit nationally, and isn’t following a legend.
It’s just the most demanding Fanbase in America, and you’re almost guaranteed to fail. Don’t forget, they were very average for a full decade before Sabin got there. I’m not saying he won’t take it, but the money won’t be much of an incentive.

I don't think Kiffen or Dabo will even look at it. Their egos are too big to be Saban's replacement. Now, after the replacement, all bets are off. If DeBoer's name is being thrown around, I think its a push. Seems he is a West Coast guy. I guess I could see Frankin or Norvell. This is going to be interesting to watch.
