Terrible game. But I did like the sacks in the first half. Phladarius was getting after it when he wasn’t missing tackles on the RBs

also why didn’t chase brown play more for Illini? I didn’t see him I. The first half

Yes, I did like the ability of the D to get after the QB. I'll even admit GN looked a lot better than I had expected. As usual the LBs and Safeties make terrible decisions and the D is poorly coached in general. But we do have some players that can get after QBs.

D line played really well

secondary remains a little suspect - CTB has no man-to-man skills, and our hard hitting safeties don't have the speed to cover over the top

linebackers played about as expected

The majority of sacks are just as much attributable to good downfield coverage as good DL play.

yep.

I suppose that's just like the majority of times your 5th year sr safety gets beat deep by a 4th string QB who's not even listed as a WR for the biggest play of the game is attributable to no pass rush.

We brought a linebacker on a blitz at least 3 times in the first half. Every time, he was stonewalled.
