Hit a three to go up three points with under three seconds in the game. The Santa Clara coach was standing right there in signaled for a timeout immediately so they could set their defense. For whatever reason, the ref just didn’t grant the timeout and let play go on. Kentucky hit a long three to tie it up and then won in overtime. If they were given the chance to set their D, they obviously would’ve been able to force a much tougher shot.

It was an exhilarating ending to regulation, but I hate Kentucky.

The Sanata Clara coach is Herb Sendek, who coached at NC state in the mid 1990's to early 2000's, I had not heard that name in a long time.

I thought he was in his 50's when he was at NC state, he was in his 30's LOL

still coaching 20 years later and has racked up 600 career wins, now in his 60's

I hold Sendek in high regard simply for working with Dave Odom to schedule a home-and-home series between NC State and USC in MBB. The first of our former non-Clemron ACC rivals to do this after we left the league.
