Didn't someone post this would happen when Holgerson was brought in?

Satterfield is staying on the staff coaching TEs.
For the present, anyway. This confirm's Beamer's folly in hiring this man. It cost us multiple victories, Missouri being one, the year Kitchens had to the pick up the pieces at the very end.

It'll be interesting to see how this works out. Can't say I can recall when a team has hired a new OC from outside the program with 3 games left in the season.

At least this time he can say he was replaced by a real person instead of a ''phantom play caller'' as was the case here. :D

Earlier this season in overtime Nebraska had the ball with a third and 42. With Illinois already scoring in overtime, this is the one time Nebraska offense can not afford to go backwards.

One of the early things that made my doubting of the Beamer hire stick was his keeping Satterfield after year one. He was an emergency hire and he didn’t work out; no big deal, move on. The QB situation was challenging but that never accounted for linemen who didn’t know who to block and the senseless play-calling.

A very telling moment for Satt himself was after the Florida upset where they ran the ball all over the Gators in an unprecedented way that season and then this guy says at the following Tuesday press conference that nothing changed for the offensive scheme. He said that in response to a question and kind of said it with annoyance and arrogance in his voice. As if to reply “no, my scheme is fine and needs no changes.” But we all saw the implementation of a full back for that game and a simplified OL blocking scheme.

He sucked here, hope he figures it out elsewhere, he didn’t at Nebraska.

When Satterfield was here, he did not have a lack of talent on offense. He had a NFL QB, WR (someone said we had 2 NFL WRs), TE and I think RB Lloyd. I do not know what he has over Rhule to be kept on.
