Thanks for posting this. I actually learned something about the situation. Before the only thinh I've seen is that K pushed him out the door, K recruited Jackson because he was better or K pushed him out to make room for Bolden.

I don't know exactly when Jack White committed, but wouldn't this article be saying that K knew Thornton was probably out the door during the season????? I believe Jack White committed during the season.

Fantastic article. Unfortunately those who need to read it won't and if they do it's not going to change their minds. Their hate for Coach K and Duke is so strong that if Coach K donated an organ that saved their or a loved one's life it wouldn't make a difference. They would deny that also. OFC

According to people on a free board on another site, Tank tried to pull DT out in January

We have not heard from DT nor will we likely ever hear from him...With that in mind we may never know if this was really DT's choice or a decision manipulated by an overagressive parent/uncle...It is disappointing because this is a critical time in this young man's life with a lot on the line....He should be getting support and sound advice and it doesn't seem like that is the case....No rational person can compare the touches of a true freshman with an all-american fourth year junior and keep a straight face while doing so...Especially given the noticeable struggles that occurred when the ball was in his hands...Additionally, this twitter rant sends the message that others are to blame for DT's struggles this year rather than holding him accountable and pushing him to get better....I wish him well and I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't think he is headed down a path with a high rate of success.

Yeah, according to that article and other information that has come out, it seems that since about January the staff had a good idea that he was going to head elsewhere.

They can't handle the truth.

I don't care about that....they can't even handle an opinion that doesn't somehow make K out to be a monster.

The Thornton thing has been an issue for a while. Duke, and even the Thornton's for that matter, did a good job of keeping that on the down low. What I mean by that is, it wasn't brought out to the public....which would have hurt team chemistry even more.

Great read. While it doesn't bother me like it used too, the thing that always infuriated me about outside fans (and i'm sure we have our share of these same types) is when they just blatantly make things up. They try and pass it off as truth and the next thing you know it gets picked up like that dbag from UK saying that DT was pushed out for bolden. WHAT??? There is not even a sliver of truth to that moronic statement, but yet those that want to believe it will and will run with it. Thus, morale of the story is don't even let it get to you. Just not worth it. Let trolls be trolls.

Totally agree. They've made up their minds and nothing will change that. OFC

The best thing we can do as a fan base is simply laugh at the stupid comments and hate mongering UNCheats and Kentucky are so good at.

The best thing that ever happened for Duke basketball writing was when Al Featherston got fired by the H-S. He's incredible. He's a stand-up guy, too.

Great article, except for the huge Amazon ad I couldn't get to disappear on my phone, blocking part of the first paragraph.

Some info on Elliot Williams was news to me, too. It doesn't conflict with anything else I've been adament about regarding that situation, but I was unaware that they'd tried to push K for some kind of guarantee.

Great article, finally the truth about E-Will transfer was put in print.

Every now and then, the fans need to be reminded that Duke have the same issues as other schools. College Basketball is a business, and a business must be handled with authority. I'm glad K did not give in.
