In addition to Carolina avoiding road games against teams at the top of the league, which I think has been discussed, it may interest you to know:

During a 7-game stretch in February (Feb. 5 - Feb. 26), Carolina didn't even have to leave the state of North Carolina. 3 home games, then at Wake Forest and at Duke were followed by 2 more home games.

I don't often ***** about this stuff but given the gauntlet we went through this burns me up. It is an ABSURD advantage.

It's been pointed out on the N.C. State board as well.

The schedule has been imbalanced for years. We still control our own destiny, win out and we are the number one seed in the tournament.

Yeah, they benefitted from an easy schedule, no doubt. It’s not their fault since the conference is so unbalanced. When we go to 20 ACC games, hopefully this won’t be so glaring.

20 ACC games, really looking forward to playing Miami, Pitt & BC twice. Wish OOC games were still a thing in late Feb.

Announcer also said that Roy Williams is 13-1 following the 1st matchup vs Duke of the season. Who wants to bet Swofford made sure to insert a cupcake for most of those games?

All very true but on top of all that, they also get to play us in Cameron without the best college basketball player of the last 20 years... I mean my God, how lucky can a program be?

Yeah, it’s brutal. It is what it is though. We had the easier schedule last season but couldn’t take advantage of it. It’s really frustrating if we don’t win the regular season title this year though because at full strength, we’re the best team in the conference.

Looking it up it's actually 16-0. I too heard the 13-0 remark so either the site below is wrong or the announcers picked 13 for some reason.

In the last 16 years UNC has faced 5 ranked teams after the first Duke game. 3 at home and 2 on the road.
In the same period Duke has faced 1 and lost at #18 Louisville. Duke has also lost to 4 unranked teams over that same period, all on the road.

This according to https://www.sports-reference.com

This will come back to bite UNC in the end. I like our tough schedule, this will prepare Duke for the NCAA tournament. Let UNC have their cake schedule, I'll enjoy watching them flame out in the tournament.

Quick check at 3 sites shows Duke's SOS as high as #1 and as low as #8 in the country.
Those same sites have UNC between #3 and #12

Maybe.

So far vs Top 20 ACC teams (at the time they played)
Duke 4 road, 2 home games
UNC 3 and 3
No the top 6 teams in the league besides duke are uva unc fsu vtech syracuse and ville. Duke will play all 6 on the road while unc plays 2.. your counting nc state but they are not one of the best teams in the league.

Hasn’t it been close to 5-10 years since Duke has played a OOC road game? Excluding neutral sites?

I hate the fact that UNC isn't getting UVA a second time. I'd rather not win an ACC regular season and have the team better prepared for the NCAA's.

As someone said above, I hope the 20 game ACC fixes a lot of these issues.

As I said the rankings were at the time they played.
You are the first to mention the "top 6" league records.
But yes, vs the current Top 7 Duke gets 3 @ home and 6 on the road
UNC gets 6 @ home and 2 on the road

To me thats how i base it because ranking can be very misleading depending on the team. 6 vs 2 is crazy

All good teams play cupcakes in the early season just as Duke, UK, MSU, others and UnCheats do.

There is no regular season champion no more in my eyes. There was a true champion back in the day when every team played each other twice on each teams home court. That decided a true regular season champion. Now you can win just from the weakness of your schedule and UNCheat is a perfect example of that this year. 5 of their road games are in the bottom 6 of the league and then they scream about OOOOHHHH they are undefeated on the road!!!!!

I dunno I just.. I just don't care what Carolina does or doesn't do.
I hear ya man. The only time I’ve watched them play this year was against us. I just don’t care about them. They don’t concern me at all.

Schools can't help what their ACC schedule, it is what it is. Carolina played 4 true road games before Duke played their first one that was on 1/8, 13 games into the season.

Do we want to compare the road vs home games played in the OOC schedule, the games that the school schedule and can control, based on let's say the last 10 years?

Duke has played 8 ranked teams (at the time they played) and Carolina has played 9.

Yes, why dont you show everyone on this board the big bad schedules North Carolina plays compared to Duke.

I mean...Duke is #1 and UNC is #3. It's not like we're talking anything that out of wack when you look at a full season.

But as I've admitted here earlier, we definitely lucked out with our ACC road schedule this year...it was easy. That said, it's not like we made it and I wish we got UVA on the road to better prepare us for March.

Like I said in another thread....the ACC schedule is what it is. I don't think anybody is a fan of the current setup. I'll just say this....if you win 15 or 16 games in conference play, regardless of who and where you play somebody, you're a really good team. UNC is a really good team.

No one is going to pat you on the back for playing at Wofford and Elon. I mean, it's cute and all, but it's still Wofford and Elon. Playing neutral site games against power fives is better for any team. You know that, too.

I give UNC zero credit for scheduling it cuz they had no idea they would be...but...Wofford is really good this season. That 11 point win for UNC @Wofford is a Quad 1 win, they are 14 in the NET.
