Duke fans will disagree with you this morning about the better coach thing after blowing a 19 point lead
Scheyer has the refs on his side. Could you imagine some of Cal's teams with the refs on his side like Duke has?
This. The refs cheated against UK n 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2017 losses. Blatantly obvious missed calls n close defeats.
For all Cals faults, if he got a fair officiating shake probably has a few more titles.

Honestly a slap in the face to Cal.
He at least won titles, made it to title games, and won a bunch of Final4's with 1AD recruiting. And he also did it while not having some absurd 80-26 free throw disparity either. Cal got zero protection from the NCAA. He didn't have the transfer portal that Scheyer has, either.. where a team like Duke or UK can now just go fill in any position they need, no problem.
Scheyer may very well prove to be a great coach, but he is not one at the moment, and he certainly should not be mentioned with Cal's name anytime soon.
