I think we move the ball rather easily but only punch it in 3 times and is a nailbiter until the end.

23-17 PSU.

if this was at Oregon or a neutral site after what I have seen with this offense, I would take Oregon.

I'll believe we can beat a top 5 team when I see it, hopefully this Saturday evening.
This tends to be my sentiment. I have oddly been counting this as a loss all along just because of Franklin's history. At least we're favored, because we do much better in that scenario vs being a dog.

I will say these couple of things to those discounting our chances - Oregon may have played P4 competition over the last few weeks vs. our FCS level competition, but Oregon State, Northwestern, and Ok. St might be the 3 worst teams in P4. And there were moments where the Oregon DL/OL looked vulnerable but they were able to overtake the opponent because of their elite skill positions. Oregon's WR corp + TE Sadiq are probably the best in the country? If not 1b? And Dante Moore has shown to be very accurate - huge big play potential. But we have a veteran secondary + Jim Knowles.

I truly do believe we have the superior advantage in the trenches on both sides of the ball - and that matters, a lot. If our defense stops the run and our secondary can keep Oregon somewhat limited (think FGs vs TDs), then I really do think we can wear them down. I don't believe PSU can fall behind early like we did last year, this roster is not built for coming from behind so we need a fast start. Grind them out and protect the ball. Haven't seen this noted all that much, but Oregon starts 2 freshman/RS at Corner (our old pal Finney) - we absolutely need our veteran Wrs Pena, Hudson, and Ross to expose them in the whiteout.

Throw in Oregon is traveling across country, whiteout, grass playing surface. Cmon this has to be the one where we get over the hump.

24-23 Nits. Good guys get a big stop with 5 minutes to go to force a punt, and Allen/Singleton burn the clock on the last drive to win it.

It will be interesting to see where the line ends up. It does seem like the majority of pundits are picking the Ducks.

Couple of thoughts

This is the 3rd time in 12 months that Jim Knowles has seen the Oregon offense. He kept them close the first time, and owned them the second time.

PSU's defensive talent this year is, in my opinion, slightly below Ohio State's defensive talent last year. But, Knowles has just that much more experience for the 3rd time in 12 months with the Ducks offense, which will be valuable.

Dante Moore, based on what the TV guys say, is a great athlete but not the same level of QB as Gabriel Dillon.

I think DDS goes off on the UO offensive line.

It will be close-close enough to give me agita.

PSU -28
UO - 24

Didn't someone from CBS put Illinois ahead of PSU in his power rankings after they beat Duke? Then this past weekend they got smoked by IU. Maybe Brian Jones?

I'd love a 1 pt win. I can't get over two things:

1) Oregon scored 45 against PSU last year.

2) Ohio State ran the ball 11 straight times to run out the last 5 minutes of the game last year.

I don’t think this year's defense is as good as last year. Our new $3 million DC is going to have to earn his keep and hold Oregon under 30.

This is why Jim Knowles is here. He's here to win this type of game. Ask Clemson what they think of "stealing Tom Allen from Penn State" as they sit 1-3.

So many amazing storyline heading into this game.

Franklin has more pressure cause his “abysmal” record in big games (he did not call him BGJ which was nice)
