Depends on severity.... I got mono at Nu in 1992 and doc made me sit out my club sport (ultimate frisbee) for just a week. But because of the brittle spleen thing I had to wear padding over it (actually an old school waterski belt) for a month during games after that

So I'd guess maybe Scottue misses 2 weeks and then is brought back slowly with some extra protection over his spleen. Should be great by March.

Doesn't it also depend on when he actually got it? (e.g. let's assume that you had already had mono for two weeks before you went to the doctor . . . that impacted how long you had to sit out, I would assume? If you had gone to the doctor two weeks earlier, then it might've been 3 weeks you had to sit out.) It sounds like his back spasms may be related, and that would support that he had it for at least some amount of time before he was diagnosed. Either way, here's to a full recovery, very quickly! Both for the sake of his personal health and for the sake of the team.

I never had mono, but during the Rose Bowl season I had a bad sinus infection and was not able to post my ridiculous hyperbole statements for three weeks. We just need to make adjustments! That is why I do voice activated posts from now on! My fans need me, even if my hands ache!

Something else frightening to consider - this is highly contagious. And I think a bunch of these guys are roommates - including BMac. Keep your fingers crossed that mono doesn't wipe out our season one star at a time.

I'd prefer not to think about that! I assume that Scottie and company being VERY careful about it now, but hopefully they didn't all drink milk straight from the carton a couple of weeks ago or something like that.

As long as the players avoid making out, we will be fine. It's the kissing disease.

Were they kissing?

Hey, @wildcatcoaster, did you play only in 92? I played '92/'93 through '94/'95 and co-captained starting '93-'94. Do you still play? I've been sidelined since mangling my foot in our league playoffs in August and have surgery and long recovery ahead. (I'd have sent this as a private message but don't see how to do that.)

Did the sinus infection spread to your hands? How could that happen?

This wins the disgusting post of the year, and we're just starting February.
