SEC 8-4 (8-5 if you count Texas in first four, which I do not) with OU playing now

Feels like this Oklahoma game is going to the difference between a solid first round to a good one. No real surprises for the conference yet… Missouri losing probably the one that hurts the most, but Arkansas and Ole Miss wins more than making up for that.

Funny to see the narrative on Twitter that the SEC is floundering because our bottom feeders lost games they were mostly underdogs in (outside of Mizzou). Meanwhile the conference just broke the record for most second round teams ever I’m pretty sure:

The Texas loss most certainly counts. 8 and 5 and gonna finish 8 and 6. Vandy crapped the bed or wpuld have been 9 and 5. Good regardless and a solid shot at 6 in sweet 16 IMO

It does but it should not count. It’s not a real tournament game. It’s a play in to get to the real tournament. Might as well start counting the conference championship games as tourney games

We will be 75% of the final four. Mark it down.

All we lost was the bottom of the SEC. No big boys went down which is huge with some of these matchups.

I expected Drake, UConn, Zags and St Mary's to win.

8-0 B1G

Median margin of victory of 22 points.

SEC 10-9 record over the B1G out of conference seems like a coin flip on who the top dog is.

Not a coin flip. SEC did the same for years when they only got 5-8 teams in..they’d all advance bc it was only the top teams. When you put 14 teams in….the bottom 3-6 deserve to be in bc they have stronger resumes but that doesn’t mean they can’t lose to a top 5 yeah if another conference w a similar seed line.

The top 10 of the SEC is metrically stronger than any other Conference and playing in this league night in and night out was significantly more brutal than other leagues where you get built in “off” nights. The SEC will have 40%+ of every round.
