If UK can get it turned around within the next two years they could get over the hump. Not a real good coach in the whole conference. UGA, Florida, UT nothing like it was in the late 90s and early 2000s. If we could of just gotten functional during this time then we might of been a different program.

That's the only reason that Missouri, Vandy and USCjr made their runs. Hope we can get it together and take advantage of some less than average coaching hires at these places.

I don't understand the logic that there are no good coaches in the SEC East. Jones is improving UT every year and likely to go 10-2 this year, and Jim M. at FL is doing good things. The East will run through those 2 programs in coming years.

2 out of 7? That's it though. There are 5 bad coaches (one of those being iffy with Smart), and 2 good ones. Not a normal thing.

Jones has recruited better at UT, but his coaching has not been that great. He's in year four and they are really not close to competing with the top of the west.

I seriously doubt that. That said, he would have made us a player.
Bobby Petrino wasn't going to be hired anywhere in college power conferences after the Arkansas issues. That he came to WKU was a job only until the UofL job opened.

He, of course, like so many before him who placed themselves above everything found his savior and another chance to coach.

You can bet Art Briles whose profile at Baylor was much worse than Mr. Petrino, will find his savior, repent and be back on the sidelines somewhere because he deserves a "another chance."

Butch Jones is a great recruiter but below average coach. Kirby Smart is just as I expected. Not all great coordinators pan out as head coaches. MCIlwain is a fine coach. I really like him and enjoy watching his teams. He may not be the big personality that Florida is used to, but he's a hell of a coach. Vandy, SC, and Missouri should be about what they have been.

We have a chance to gain some attention in the SEC East,a win next week leaves no doubt that we are making progress. I don't expect some kind of miracle story book ending to this season but if we can pick up a win against Miss St the players and coaches can have something tangible to point to and say see we are making progress now get behind us and let's see what else we can do.

I would just like UK to get enough respect to not be laughed at by Finebaum and others supporting SEC teams.
Nobody cares what Finebaum thinks and when fans of other SEC fans talk crap I just remind them that we care about football as much as they care about basketball.

Well, Mr. Barry Blue, I would dispute that notion. This fan base is pretty passionate about UK football. When the winning truly begins, you will witness the BBN erupt as no other.

Not sure saying we're the one anti-FB school in the SEC is the way to go. Much better to get to 6, win our bowl, improve from there to earn respect and then be respected in both sports.

Big difference here is schools like Georgia and even Mizzou won't hold onto coaches for longer than they should. They'll pull the trigger quick and get better coaches. They won't be down for long.

The East is a mess, there are no good teams in this division, any team is capable of beating any of the others on any given weekend. Truth is the West isn't world beaters either, take Bama away and the SEC is as weak as I have seen it in nearly 20 years. A&M is undefeated right now, and I suppose they have an outside shot at Bama, but UT gave A&M a scare, the only scare UT gave Bama was having to look at that ugly faded out orange and they are the best the East has to offer.

I hate to say it, but SEC is not the strongest conference this year, we might win a few of the bottom games against the Big10, but they would win at least 2 of the top 3 and could sweep them. SEC overall has a serious issue with qb play thoughout the conference, Bama, OM, Arky, A&M are getting pretty good play, Dobbs can't pass well enough to keep teams honest, stop his scrambles and their offense is awful. Our qb play has been awful, UK's isn't good, UF has lost their starter, USC, Missouri and Vandy don't have one either. Whoever is the first team in the East to get competent QB play will soar to the top, it doesnt have to be Lamar Jackson good, just not bad. Hard to believe how weak the East has gotten and the SEC as a hold outside of 1-3 teams so quick.

UF has lost their starter

He's back, and the Gators look a world better with Del Rio. I do think the Gators are deserving of winning the East if it winds up that way. However if they take losses against LSU and Arky then it's a wild scramble and 4 teams have a shot.

We are tied with Tennessee for second folks. Wake up!

I agree but as of today that's fool's gold. I'm not going to bad mouth UK regarding our SEC wins but I can certainly see why close wins (at home) against Vandy and South Carolina haven't impressed most posters on this board. I agree that we seem to be improving but six wins is FAR from a sure thing at this point. Just have to take everything one game at a time.
