Well, that was a fun half! Things couldn’t have gone much better for NU. The bench scored 22 points (!), Illinois turned it over 11 times, the Cats are even out-rebounding them 17-16.

They lead 43-28 — and Boo hasn’t even scored. Gaines has 8, and Young and Nance has 7 apiece.

Love how Young manages to not be intimidated by the big man posse of the B1G. Cockburn, no worries.

Here comes a charge. Got to get our offense going. I like Nance driving on Cockburn but he’s gotta finish stronger and draw a foul.

Buie’s 3rd, maybe a blessing in disguise.

Really pooping myself IL will start driving into and splitting the zone. And realize that overloading in the corner will open things up

That is one way to start the second half. Not the one I would have picked, but certainly one way.

Kopp set a pick for Nance and it was comical how not used to being in that situation Cockburn looked. Try it once more, and let me see it in slow motion.

To be clear, Illinois has now scored 28 points in each half.

NU, by comparison, scored 43 points in the first. And... 5... in the second.

Haven't been watching the second half. Where is our boy Young? Audige has no business with the ball in his hand. Bad decisions.

Sigh. The only good news is there aren’t 4,000 orange fans in there and I don’t have to see anyone in person. But a 35-7 second half is tough to live down.

I missed the fun part. Turned it on at 53-48. Turning it off at 63-50, so at least I saw a FG.

I am not sure if it would be better for my health to just turn this off now. Is it better to just not see any of this?
