Well, I think the Cats read Avery’s story today. Pardon was the man in the first half, 6-for-6 for 12 points.

If NU takes care of the ball — they had four turnovers before the first media timeout and finished the half with seven — they should put this one away.

Ugh... Benson frustrates me so much. Mainly because I expected so much more out of him. But he is so weak in the paint.

He was a big-time recruit, too: Four-stars, the No. 118 player in the country. He just hasn’t developed.

Turner cannot finish at The Rim he has had three nice drives and hasn't come close to putting the ball in the basket or drawing a foul

He hasn’t scored yet. NU needs him, Law or Taylor to come alive in the second half.

Great follow slam by Gaines, but really surprised he didn't get a T after. Sure seemed like he was taunting.

Vic needs to come out of the game. He just doesn't have it tonight.

Boy, did these refs get intimidated or what. Now they're calling the Cats for heavy breathing even.

They are just "not good".
Our ball movement is really poor. We dribble around and just don't move the ball. That ball needs to be whipping around - inside and out. Watch our offense. Its just sooooo slow with very little passing except those dumb handoffs 30 feet from the basket.

Free throws were big. NU: 14-17 (82.4%); Rutgers 15-25 (60%).

NU also played really good half-court defense. Rutgers was only 19-49 (38.8%) from the floor with about half of those field goals coming on fast breaks off NU turnovers.

On a night when Vic Law doesn't have it going, we need something/anything from Turner, who has been invisible: 0 points, 0 assists and 1 rebound.

He's playing hurt, just like Vic. Collins mentioned it in the postgame interview with Shon. Need to get them healthy to win more games...
