Second-half thread for NU vs. Illinois

NU has to be pretty happy with the first half, even if they're trailing 38-34.

They attacked the rim and got 16 points in the paint, they held Dosunumu and Cockburn to a combined 8 points and they turned it over just three times.

Beran and Kopp are leading the way with 9 points apiece, while Frazier has done the most damage for the Illini with 11, including three 3-pointers.

We’re playing pretty well and if we keep it up I’ll be happy regardless. But to stand a chance of winning we gotta allow less points than in the first half. If we allow another 38, we are not winning a game they score 76

Nah, you need your PG trying to make plays in this moment. Spencer is trying to create something; the young-in just aren’t moving as much off the ball down the stretch...that’s why Collins is yelling at them.

Considering we are playing without Boo and Gaines and Nance contributed next to nothing this was a great effort. Beran is what we hoped/expected Nance would be. With Beran Boo and Kopp we have a future.
