Well, NU got off to a great start and then...pfffft.

The Cats ran out to a 14-5 lead with SIX players getting on the scoresheet. Michigan, meanwhile, hit just 2 of its first 11.

Then NU had two LONG scoring droughts: first 4:48, and then the last 7:06. It's awfully tough to win like that.

Lindsey leads the way with 7 as the Cats are shooting just 33.3 percent from the floor and have as many turnovers (eight) as field goals.

Luckily, Michigan isn't much better shooting the rock at 36 percent.

Shooting 37% didn’t help; scoring 40 points in a modern day basketball game didn’t help.

Agreed. If this game was played in 1942, we’d have a better chance. 40 would probably be enough to win and Wagner would be on the other team in a different type of battle.

In 1942 Wagner's team would have been kicking butt.....I'd rather play in 1944.

BMac has missed a bunch of looks at the rim late in the game. Could be a 5-point game with 1:11 to play instead of a seemingly insurmountable 9.
