NU started and closed terribly, but in between, they played some pretty good ball.

MSU jumped out to a 16-2 lead early, but NU came back and got the deficit all the way down to four. Then MSU closed the half with a 7-0 run to take a 33-22 edge into the locker room.

MSU has a 24-9 edge in rebounds, including 10-1 on the offensive end. Ouch. But that's what you get when you play the Spartans, who always crash the glass hard.

Pat Spencer leads NU with 7, while Kopp has 5, and Young and Beran 4 apiece.

Winston and Tillman have 7 each for MSU.

17 point dogs and we're seeing why.

This is a hard way to learn how to play, but there is no other.

Thoughts for game, with 13 to go, because anything that happens now is pretty meaningless and not in a competitive setting:

Positives
-Good last 15 minutes in the 1st half on defense. After giving them a head start with a mind boggling decision of starting with a zone

The end

Good lord.... Nance with 0 points. No FGs for Beran. Only 2 bench points for the entire team. Our leading scorer is a former lacrosse player who won't be back next year. Remind me why people are optimistic about this team going forward?

By far our worst game of the year. Losing by 35 points. Not one player tonight that looks like a Big10 player except for probably Spencer who will be gone after this year

young team, 2 day turn around....pretty deep into the season....really short bench,,,,,mama said there would be days like this...reason the most experienced athlete with the strongest body on the team had the best performance......but teams with guards that can penetrate hurt us...what is the physical make up of Ty Berry ?

One of the positives was the number of backdoor cuts that were wide open only to turn into turnovers because of bad passes and weak finishes

With the size we have shouldn’t be getting out rebounded 44-27 or whatever it ended up being.

The Big ten is a war zone this season so I didn’t figure we’d win many games, but we are way too inconsistent in multiple aspects.

Can’t win on the road with a short rest
