You have to like that first half if you're NU. The Cats were down early as Purdue went on a 12-0 run and the Haas-Haarms duo looked strong inside. But NU answered with a 14-1 run to retake the lead and we're tied at 33 at the half.

And how about the bench? Brown came up with 7 points to help fuel that run, while Skelly had 4. Lindsey leads NU with 11.

NU needs Law to find his stroke (he's 1-6) and hit some more shots from distance (3-12) and they'll be in good shape. They're holding their own against the bigger Boilers on the boards.

We looked solid as a team!

Lindsey, Pardon, and Law all have two fouls. Going to need all of them to be available to pull this out. With the big boys of Purdue, Pardon will have his hands full staying in this one.

Dererk! Having his best game of the year against by far his toughest from a matchup perspective. Love him hitting those midrange jumpers.

Fouls have really been an issue this whole season.

Dererk is playing well to start the second half. When he hits a couple jumpers like he did today, it adds a whole new dimension to his game. And he just owned Haas under the rim to draw that foul.

If they eject Lindsey for that...

The PU defender reached in. That was a foul on him. Contact to his noggin was completely incidental as Lindsey tried to get the loose ball.

To my untrained eyes, it looks like our off ball movement sux balls. No cutting, no moving to open space for shots. Lots of standing around watching.

Thank goodness for the pickup in Brown’s game to give us another legit shot maker/taker with a stout handle...

I think we're moving the ball pretty well

Based on the letter of the law, that should have been a flagrant. That being said, it was also 100% obvious it was incidental. Glad they called it how they did, but may have caught a little break.

Mac with another dumb turnover and another turnover after a timeout. Wasted opportunities killing this team this year.

Argh. Missed the wide open three-pointer. No one could make a play in the last minute, despite all the good play earlier.

Well... BMac will go down as an NU legend, but he is not a good game finisher.

Do we go to Bloomington this year? Thank God the tournament isn't in Indy. Something about Mac in his home state ...

Yep. We have to start re-thinking our end of game strategy. BMac is the most important player on this team, but something is off for him in these clutch late game spots.

Just think he is just trying to do to much. Maybe Law should be the go to guy at the end. Wonder why Falzon was in then. Skelly offered about nothing today.

Wondering if Falzon aggravated his preseason injury; only reason I can see that he did not play at all down the stretch...

The only reason? Not the fact that he's 3-20 from 3-point range since the Texas Tech game? He can't shoot and his defense is atrocious right now, so he hasn't earned late game playing time.

You guys played a great game! Good team and good coaching. NW is usually Kryptonite for Purdue. Always tough. Nobody gave up. Good luck the rest of the way!
