This is almost certainly a hypothetical question, but it is one that I've wondered.

If the 'Cats were to win the B1G tournament in order to get an automatic bid to the Big Dance, what seed would they likely be in the NCAA tournament? Would they be playing in the First Four as a 16-seed, or would the committee give them more respect?

My guess is that they would be a 14-seed. There was a similar situation in 2008, when Georgia entered the SEC Tournament with a 13-16 overall record and 4-12 in conference play. They ended up as a 14-seed after winning the SEC Tournament.

I'm guessing we'd be quite a bit higher. Maybe an 11 or 12 seed. Maybe better.

We'll have won the B1G (which is tougher than the SEC in 2008, I'd think) - 11 of our last 13, and 19-16 record overall. Our resume would be much better than Georgia's.
