Malnati
crowd and team went nuts for him. started and really got the team going with energy. had 3 reb in the first 5 minutes.

hard to know what malnati brought, but turner hit a game winner against illinois and spencer was a leading scorer for 7 games this year.

Turner stepping up last season to basically play point guard speaks to the unselfishness he brought to the program. He didn’t have as good of a senior year as I’m sure he was hoping for, but I’m certain that his veteran presence has been important this season.

Spencer was so much fun to watch this season. I love his fearlessness, and that he played every game like he thought he was the best player on the floor. I’m sure that was important for the young guys to see, and I hope his swagger has rubbed off a little on some of the guys coming back.

Tino was the only four year at NU senior. He’s seen a lot for this program, and you can tell how they interact how much his teammates really like him.

Spencer sure was fun to watch this year and made a really crappy season somewhat tolerable. Tino was clearly a leader and it’s really cool to see a kid I’ve known for ages succeed and be part of this program. Turner had an up and down career, but clearly was always unselfish and seemed to put the team first. I wish we could have won more games this year, but we’re left with fun memories of them all.

Great comments. Spencer was an amazing surprise. But Turner is not often mentioned and, by all accounts, was a model guy on campus. That can be very important for the culture of the team.
