in UK history?
Think about it:
26 point dogs
On the road.
Versus arch rival #11 Louisville. Louisville 9-2 with Heisman favorite.
UK win snaps U of L's 5 gm winning streak and gives the Cats a 15-14 edge in the series.
And the way we won it with the choke fumble by Butterfingers Jackson late inside UKs 10 yd. line in a tie gm.
I'm saying it may be the biggest ever at least in the modern era!

I knew you guys would down play it and its all good considering but down deep you know what time it is!
Break open the bourbon boys it don't get any better than Kentucky being #1 in basketball and being damn near 30 pt underdogs at Louisville and whooping their asses.
Be careful but celebrate good times!!

Definitely best since LSU 2007. I'd have to think about rankings but not too many better in last 30 years.

Being picked to lose by 26 points was just stupid... This game was big, but Alabama and LSU games, plus a few others rank a lot better wins... I thought UK was better than the media & fans gave them credit for...

We beat a good team on the last game of the season.

We've only closed out the regular season with a win 3 times in my lifetime.

And frankly, the last time didn't quite do it for me. Circumstances left me feeling flat.

Not today.

The LSU game was bigger. This one is in the running for second place.

I don't know. Beating lsu when they were no. 1 was pretty spectacular. But under the circumstances, this is very high on the list

I think this is the right way to look at it. The LSU game was technically a better performance and a bigger win, but we were also pretty good that year with a Heisman candidate QB of our own, playing at home. The circumstances of this win, like the OP laid out, pushes this upset of Louisville into the top spot. In addition to his list, we probably knocked UofL out of the Orange Bowl, may have taken the Heisman from Jackson, and punched our rivals right in the mouth when their insufferability was reaching an all-time high. This could not have been more perfect.

The level of excitement surrounding that LSU game was on a whole other level.

You couldn't even get cell service in Kentucky after that win people were so jacked.

This win was a great surprise and in the running for the 2nd best win since I've been watching for a lot of reasons.

But the stakes were much higher when we beat LSU. Sorry, but this game today doesn't touch that one, in my opinion.

Man, I hear you. I was a freshman at UK watching that game in CWS. And I'll admit that a bunch of people left at halftime thinking it was over and I was *almost* one of them. And I'll admit that I screamed myself so hoarse I couldn't talk for a couple days. But like I said, we were ranked at the time and it actually felt like less of an upset somehow. The coinciding perfection of what happened today is downright cosmic.

Either way, it's a disagreement I take pleasure in reflecting on.

It's all good. Today was definitely a much bigger upset and surprise.

The Orange Bowl win over number 1 Oklahoma has to be at the top but this one was sweet and one to remember as well as savor

I was at the LSU game. To me this one was better. While LSU was #1 this UK team was still trying to prove themselves and finish a game. They got that done today. For me, this one was better

I don't get the 98 Bama win as being that great. They finished 4-8 on the season. Look I was there and helped pack the goalpost out, but after the moment didn't think that win compared to today in any way

The Bama win felt like the shackles were coming off after the "Cut the deuce loose" Curry era.

But in hindsight, it wasn't incredibly impressive. Sure was fun though.

That game was amazing, I don't care how good or bad Bama was that year. Our first win against them in 75 years, one of the best experiences of my life.

The thing I most remember was my neighbour was a Bama fan and flew his Big Red A flag every day. He told me if UK ever beat the Tide he would take it down for a week and fly my Big Blue flag. That was nice

This is one of the Best but not the Best. That LSU win in CWS was Super Special. (Lsu fans likes to recall a UK game called "Miracle in the Bluegrass".
That was the worst one.

This team has played several games that were fun to watch this year. Didn't win all we could have but much better that those 30-50 point *** whippings I have seen.

Only time will tell how big this game is to the program.

The win over #1 LSU was big, but I believe the program had been trending up and was looking for a signature win. The LSU win really defined what Brooks had been building and put Kentucky in a position to compete in games where we had previously had no chance.

The win against Tennessee ended a streak but really said more about the condition of their program than anything else. It signaled the lowest points for both programs.

Today's win has the potential to mean so much more. For our season it caps off a historic turnaround. After losing to Southern Miss and being destroyed by Florida, our program was at a low. Our players and coaches were able to erase the first 2.5 games of the season and salvage some success. This win caps off what I would call a successful year.

The question that needs to be answered is whether our players and coaches progress from here and build something special. I don't know where our ceiling is, but I hope this win is a glimpse of what our young team can become on a regular basis.
