Wojnarowski shared some interesting information on the podcast:

"People there (in Sacramento) told me, and at first I didn't believe it because it sounds like an excuse somebody would make for somebody, but he's (George Karl) a (North) Carolina guy and you're a Duke guy. And some people there told me that he had some preconceived ideas about what Duke pros were like -- that they didn't make it or they ended up not being what people said they would be -- and he would say it out loud. And people there would hear it. Did you ever hear it?"

"I did," Curry answered. "It felt like every single day he would make a little Duke jab, or say something about Duke-Carolina. I'm like, 'Wow, this is happening every single day, this might be a little real.' But I don't know if that's the reason why he didn't play me on a consistent basis...

"I used to hear it and I used to hear people talk about how serious he was about it. It was a tough time early on in that year."

Karl might be the saltiest tarhole ever. Might be because K smoked the lousy job Karl did coaching TeamUSA. Even his own players know he's an azz. Ty Lawson too. #SnakeInTheGrass...

Seth Curry is one of the coolest, most laid back Duke players I have ever seen. For Seth to say this, I truly believe Karl has a problem w/the Blue Devils and their success....

george karl was a basketball innovator. For those who are old enough to see him play for unc he invented and perfected what is now known as "THE FLOP." There is no footage of it. I've tried to find some footage to post when I've spoken of it before. He at the time had long hair and when a ball carrier drove on him he would jump back and fall across the floor with his hair flopping as he slid. Most of the time the player with the ball didn't come close but dean smith and staff would jump up and give the charge signal and the refs would follow. He would frown like he was in pain. I called him george "The Actor" karl. He could sell it every time. Local high school players started doing it around here. It got to the point where fans laughed about it. So when you see a flop george karl was the master. OFC

Karl is just not a great coach, that somehow keeps getting employed. (I think he is the Norv Turner of the NBA) His "coaching" of Team USA led in part to Jerry Coleangelo and Coach K coming in and taking team USA in another direction. All these people say you can just throw any coach out there and USA will win. However, Karl and Larry Brown proved otherwise.

Don't let those facts get in the way, this was one big conspiracy by K and the NCAA to help Duke win and keep UNC down. Just ask the guys at THR.

Seems like this could be a contributing factor to any recent animosity. The idea that someone is rearranging or "fixing" your legacy can cause issues with egos.

Sky is so ON POINT...UNC had a couple hot dog guards, Karl and Steve Previs...However it was Karl who was EXHIBIT A in the line of Tarholes to master the flop...And to Sky's point 90% of the time, regardless of positioning, whatever- UNC would get the call....

When I think of the typical unc player that played under dean smith I think of george karl. It may sound like sour grapes as to the way I feel about karl but I wish all of you could have seen this guy play the carolina way. He was a piece of work. I'm happy he never coached in the college ranks. If so he may very well be in chapel hill right now and hof coach roy williams still at KU looking for his 1st title. OFC
