It won’t load, what’s he saying
He's saying he has 0 say in where College Gameday goes this weekend-and rejected the sentiment that he refused to go if they were going to Lexington for UK/Arkansas over Duke/UNC.

I didn't find it that bad. Honestly what do you expect when you are talking of a subject matter regarding a game that we all know is going to be promoted as the biggest game of the year for ESPN. They do it yearly-often the game delivers, last year it was terrible basketball and this year I'm expecting more of the same as Duke's just too talented in the frontcourt for UNC. Greenberg said that outside of Arkansas/Kentucky, not many people care about John Calipari returning to Lexington for the first time. That may be a bit understated as I think casual CBB fans will have an interest to at least watch the introduction and postgame reactions--but this seems like a typical CBB media situation that takes itself too seriously from the reaction to the reaction IMO.

With the way Arkansas and Kentucky are playing I don’t really get why people are upset.

It’s a no brainer is should be puke vs the cheats for sure

A team free falling in the polls versus a bad Arkansas team

Or

The number 2 team in the country with a favorite for POTY against their hated rival which is ( rightly or wrongly) considered the greatest rivalry in CBB.

That may be true and I hate to tell Seth but not many fans care about Cooper Flagg like ESPN wishes they would.

Free falling in the polls? We're ranked 12th....

and UNC is horrible.

How about: #1 College Basketball program of all time, and #1 in TV ratings, against their former Hall-of-Fame coach who is the current winningest coach in college basketball among active coaches who left for an in-conference rival.

I guarantee that Kentucky-Arkansas will get better ratings than Duke-UNC on Saturday, there is zero doubt.

Stop it lol. You don’t even believe that.

They only way ESPN would have considered UK/Arkansas over Duke/UNC is if both teams were undefeated and ranked 1 and 2.

Neither UK/ARK or UNC/Duke deserved gameday.

If you think our game with Arkansas deserved gameday , you're either way too biased to deserve your opinion being heard or you're stupid. And ESPN is absolutely pathetic for choosing UNC/Duke

These games are far more deserving

5 Florida @ 8 Tenn
20 Missouri @ 14 Miss St
1 Auburn @ 23 Ole Miss
22 Texas Tech @ 6 Houston
25 Uconn @ 9 Marquette

I can understand asking ESPN WTF with the UNC/Duke homerism bull sh*t but forget about UK/Arkansas, our game absolutely does not deserve it even if they chose to not be at UNC/Duke

Duke vs UNCheat moves the needle, always. There will almost never be a college game that attracts serious and casual viewers alike. You would have to have a 1 vs 2, plus a storyline to beat Duke and Carolina (even with both having mediocre seasons). Duke having the NPOTY vs Carolina will win, everytime. Whoever makes this decision at ESPN only needs .5 sec to make the right call.

I agree.

But BBNs ratings are generally better than most/all college teams. We rename Atlanta once a year. Don't see Duke or UNC doing that. So if you are looking for the most views (revenue) than its a no brainer that it should have been UK and ARK. It wouldn't be as entertaining obviously for people on the outside and not the best "basketball" matchup. Ratings would have definitely been better though simply because we have one of the largest fan bases in all of college sports. Granted it has declined slightly. In major part due to a certain coach that happens to be coming back into Lexington.

Still most of the games you named would be more entertaining for casual fans.

I’m actually glad we don’t have to deal with gameday for Cal’s return, that would’ve been too much of a distraction. The main reason why it isn’t in Lex is probably due to Ark being 1-6. It’s kind of hard to sell that match up, no matter the storyline. If Ark was ranked (or at least better than 1-6) it would’ve 100% been in Lex.

Unc/Duke was a lame choice, Tenn/UF would’ve been a better choice.

Even if GameDay wasn’t at Duke/Carolina, it would be hyped the same as if it was.

Think Duke is a bit overrated but they should pound the Heels

Wouldn't be surprised if UNC won. Hell N.C. State would have won last night with even officiating.

You act like Gameday has gone to every single UNC/Duke game ever.

In 22 years of Basketball Gameday being a thing, it's gone to Duke UNC in 13 times.

So in 9 years, they have elected to not go to that rivalry at all, and almost all 9 of those years have been when one of the two teams was not very good.

Newsflash, UNC isn't very good.

A hall of fame coach, arguably the biggest name in the sport (love him or hate him), making his return to the greatest program in college basketball history where he used to coach, a program who dominates TV ratings, etc- it's a one time event.

ESPN absolutely made the wrong decision.

Last time they went to Cameron Indoor, there were like 100 people there for gameday.

We'd get 10,000+, easy.

There is zero doubt in my mind that Seth and Jay Williams influenced this decision.
