I like it. Definitely an asset to the program who understands that nothing is static and that new or unique approaches may be necessary to get to the desired end result. Good hire.

The part that really stuck out to me was when he was asked why he thought he could be successful at Kentucky in the SEC. He said:
"Because I think I can be successful anywhere. Maybe I'm naïve to the point, but I've taken over a couple programs that didn't win any games the year before and we were close to winning national championships at both of those programs."
He said this with extreme confidence. By far my favorite thing he said.

To say I am pumped and was impressed would be an understatement. I am ready for spring practice and if I were a player on offense I would be chopping at the bit to get on the pads.
I like his clean slate and all positions are open. That is how it should be. But most of all I look forward to watching a return to a fast offense and the use of the skills and talent our players have.

I don't think Dawson is going to reinvent the wheel but I am excited to see if he'll utilize the middle of the field more and take more shots down the field. A lot of what Neal Brown ran is what Dawson will run also. Both coaches have the same basic philosophy.
I like hearing him verify that Coach Stoops was all over the increased physicality angle. I get the feeling he will get some results this coming season, primarily by instilling some aggression in that offensive line.
Agree...Really impressed with his confidence and when Gabriel asked him why he came to KENTUCKY and thinking he can be successful here..."because I think I can win anywhere"
I like what I see and hear from Dawson. It sounds like his basic offensive philosophy is very similar to that of Brown. But Dawson has a much different personality than Brown. Dawson comes across being much more aggressive and intense. I think this guy will light a fire under his players and get the very best effort out of them. I also like his confidence and his swagger. You gotta have that to be a winner.

Anyone who watched the NC game and watched OSU manhandle the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball against Oregon knows the key to any good offense is solid play from the O-Line. It makes no difference if you are a "running" team or a "passing" team, it all starts up front. Good O-line play and good QB will determine how successful Coach Dawson is at UK..
The three best things he said in the presser for UK in the short run:

>Open QB battle. Every QB will have another year of fair shakes to prove themselves
>No preconceived notions about the players means that he will likely look at a bit of footage, but understand that these guys are young and that what matters most is what they show on the practice field.

Like his confidence and seems to have a lot of pi$$ and vinegar in his personality. Can't wait for spring practice and next season to begin.
I liked what I heard from him as well. Seemed like a tell it like it is, no BS kinda guy. Not a knock on Neal Brown, but I feel like he danced around stuff with the media. I can see Dawson just being straight forward with his business and approach.

Like his personality and how he handled himself in the press conference, but as we all know, all that counts is what happens on the field. I am cautiously optimistic, but unless there are serious improvements with the Oline he is not going to do much better than Neal did. He is coming into a much better situation than Neal and if things go well will set him up very nicely to market himself for a HC position somewhere.
