Quite pathetic. But that is what major college $port$ has become.... screw the passionate and loyal fans... put money first. That (and allowing some players to hijack attention to promote a particular social justice cause) is making me less and less of a college sports fan every day.

She could make a simple design change to the finger position and sell a zillion of them, but this time without causing so much damage to UT's bottom line.

Why would or should UT care about a donut shop making a pastry resembling the "Hook 'em" hand sign ? Why does UT have to bully a donut shop to pimp it's image ?
Years ago, I viewed the gesture as signaling the OU is number one in both polls.

You and I have a different idea on what an 'old lady' is.

I think logo enforcement like this is short-sighted. Seems to me that the benefits would outweigh the cost. I can't wait until that Mississippi school has a 5* recruit that won't take a phone call from the Horns.

The trademark enforcement is standard. Nice idea but not the "old ladies" idea. OU would do the same thing.

I am not familiar with the intricacies of trademarks and enforcement. If a trademark is not protected it can be lost. OU has it written out. Link below.

I didn't see Sooner Dairy Lunch on that list. Now that is some good eating right there!!!

I see both sides of this issue. I don't see the harm in calling a donut "The Longhorn" or the "Hook 'em." But then, the university certainly has a right to protect their brand if someone wants to open a business called "Horn Porn Hub" or "Longhorn Liquors." Seems like some selective enforcement would be reasonable, but that's how lawsuits are won and lost, because of inconsistent application of the law.

The lady should just slightly alter the pastry and call it the I LOVE YOU donut. UT basically stole that idea from the longer time ago sign for the deaf, which combines the letters I L and Y to form the sign for I Love You.

Then tell UT lawyers to go suck an egg.

She should just turn the donut upside down. I'm certain that OU won't send a cease and descent order for infringement. Texas jump, Texas jump, Texas jump up and kiss my ***!

Either turn it upside down and give them the Fin hookem horns or the universal single finger.

Making donuts that look like the female reproduction system would violate trademarks. Donuts depicting the Austin shocker should have no problem. The UTerus is sandy and making pearls after 2 losing seasons.
