Needless to say, the 'Cats would be in the First Eight Out if they had been able to swing that UM game, or maybe the OU game.

No room for error w/ the 'Cats having to climb past a good # of teams and hope there aren't upsets in conf. finals, but there's a chance.

I think this shows we are closer than we think. We are 3-5 in conference and still #9 on the bubble. If we finish out 7-5 over last 12 games, with all the good teams we'd need to beat, there's a very good chance we'd be in.

well i don't know about "no room for error"... I think we have about 5 losses worth of room for error. but i agree with the rest of the sentiment!

"Next Eight Out" puts you as a mid-seed team in the NIT, so that leaves a lot of work to be done. I suppose we'll get our chances in this conference, but the margin is slim.

Maybe but we are at top of list so only 9th team out despite 3-5 conf record. That means lots of respect for big ten and our SOS.

Perhaps, but it's a tall task to hop over 8 other at-large teams.

Which just means we ought to go win the BTT in March and not worry about it.

Not really. Going 7-5 the rest of the way out in the big ten means we are naturally going to rise and we have about 40% of the season to do so. We went up several spots in NET after just the Indy win alone.

That's taking into account the quality of opponents/chances of winning for the rest of the slate, not that the 'Cats have to win the rest of the games.
