55. Los Angeles Lakers: Koby Brea (Kentucky)
58. Cleveland Cavaliers: Otega Oweh (Kentucky)
I just don't see fringe second round/undrafted being enough for OO. Selfishly, I hope I'm right.

But, maybe he wants to prove himself and he's able to talk himself into a second round chance. If he sticks with the "first round guarantee" rumor, then there's no chance he leaves this year.

Also, been to Cleveland. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is cool and there's a kick-*** Lebanese restaurant there, but otherwise... No thanks.

As for Brea, I think anyone who gets him at 55 is getting a steal. He really turned the defensive jets on and showed more than his three point shot as the year progressed.

Just curious, how accurate are these Mock Drafts at picking the second round? Seems like the first pick is always easy to pick, then the lottery is a little tougher, the end of the first round a bit harder to predict, and the second round is basically a crap shoot and always seems to have a bunch drafted that the so-called experts didn’t see coming. But I really don’t keep up with it much, so I don’t know how good these guys are at picking the second round.

Lot of familiar names in the second round. Can't help but think a lot those guys will pull out and return to school. Fland was listed and has dropped out.

I wouldn't put any stock in this mock draft. They have 3 guys getting drafted (Evans, Fland, Toppin) who either never declared or withdrew their names a week ago.

They also have Yaxel at 39 which is crazy, he's early 2nd after the combine at worst, likely top 20-25 if he stays in the draft. The only thing that looks current on that list is where Cedric Coward is projected after the combine.

As usual, fifteen international players that is not mentioned much early in the process. Can count on a bunch every draft.
Aren’t the “draft experts” notorious for not having a clue about international players? Seems like these mock drafts always seem to have a bunch of college guys in them and then when the real draft happens, there are a bunch of international guys that has everyone scrambling to figure out who they are. I haven’t watched a draft in a long time, so I don’t know if that is still true, but for several years in the 2000 teens it seemed like every first round pick was either a OAD Freshman or an international player and nobody would touch a college Junior or Senior.

I went to ESPN just now and they have their mock draft up and according to their NBA "experts", Oweh is not listed and being drafted.
I guess all these mock drafts are like "opinions", every has one!

There's been a lot of talk about getting a guaranteed contract as a 2nd rounder. What would worry me, if I am a projected 2nd rounder, is if Team A picks 50th in the draft and promises to take me and give me a 3 year guaranteed contract but I get drafted to Team B with the 45th pick who doesn't guarantee me a contract I could be screwed.

When is the deadline for players to either stay in the draft or return to college?

Athletes who declare but don’t hire an agent may still return to college, provided they withdraw by the NBA’s draft withdrawal deadline, which is June 15, 2025, at 5:00 PM ET. However, the NCAA has its own withdrawal deadline to retain college eligibility, set at May 28, 2025, at 11:59 PM ET.

May be right. It gives a few USA guys a false impression sometimes that they will go higher than when they are actually picked. Has been this way forever. And have always wondered if there is a reason for not accounting for all of them pre draft.

Do NOT see Cavs taking him. No room for him.

Guards / SF on Cavs roster :

Darius Garland (He and Mitchell take turns playing the 1/2) Played over 30 mpg.
Donovan Mitchell (above ^) Played 32 mpg. 6-3 215 pounds.
Ty Jerome ( 2G) played 20 mpg and will play more next year as he did in the playoffs. Averaged 13/3/4. 6-5 195 pounds.
Sam Merrill (2G) Played 20 mpg. 6-4 205 pounds.
Max Strus (2G-SF) played 26 mpg and even more in the playoffs, 28 mpg. Averaged 10/4/3, 12/6/4 in the playoffs. 6-5 215 pounds.
Issac Okoro (SF) played 19 mpg, 6-5 220 pounds.

They also have 2nd year player they drafted in 2023, Emoni Bates 6-8 170 pounds who they think has a future and will develop. Rookie Jaylon Tyson, 6-6 215 pounds who played 10mpg and averaged 4/2/1, and 6/2/2 in the playoffs. Javonte Green, 6-5 205 pound SG who played 19 mpg. Just got him from the Pelicans 3/4th of the way into this year. Signed Nae'Qwan Tomlin as a free agent March 2nd this year. He is a 6-8 205 rookie SF from Memphis. In the Cavs last regular season game, he played 47 minutes against the Pacers and had 24/12/2. He played only about 4 mpg in the other 4 games he played with the Cavs.

Time to come back Oweh. Put in the work to improve your perimeter shot and his stock will rise in the next draft from projections of 58th this year.

He better hope Cleveland don’t pick or keep him. They are loaded at guard spots. He would never get a chance.
