The fall NLI signing window is just one week from today. Will be interesting to see if a 5 commits sign then.

Based on their relatively recent announcement dates, I’d be shocked if all 5 didn’t sign. What’s your thinking behind this post?

I just wondered when they could sign, thinking more about poaching and decommitments. Didn't Angelo put off signing until the spring? [Edit: It was Barkley, who signed late]

It’s a technicality, but the NCAA did away with NLIs and the players will be signing financial aid agreements.

That's like the difference between the "two minute warning" in the NFL and the "two minute timeout" in NCAA football. There's no practical difference except it gives us obnoxious pedants a chance to point out technicalities.

As far as I can tell, the only thing signing day means anymore is that once they sign Collins is free to comment on the player.

Other than that in today's day and age I am not sure anything means anything in recruiting until a kid shows up on campus and then that is only a day to day commitment.

I should note that this is literally the arrangement that every other student has with any university.

Sure, and maybe that's how it should be, but it is ridiculous to compare the circumstances of a "student-athlete" who is receiving a full ride plus numerous other benefits with a student whose family is shelling out $75,000+ per year.

Cade is officially signed! (I imagine that the account will keep rolling these out during the day...)

I thought I read that once a player signs with a school then no other school is allowed to recruit him.
That would be cool, except there's no agency to enforce jack squat.
Like asking a dog not to pee on the sidewalk.
